Metro Exodus - exit to main menu - CTD and system reboot

Cpu: i7-9900K stock 4.7 with Noctua NH-D15

Gpu: Rtx 2080 Ti Aorus Xtreme Waterforce ( stock no oc,temps max 63C on load )

Ram: 32gb 2x16 GB DDR4 GSKILL 3000MHZ XMP

Psu: Seasonic Ultra Prime Titanium 850W

mb: Asus Prime Z390-A

SSD: Crucial 1TB

HDD: WB BLUE 1 TB

Case: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P




Hi. I left Metro Exodus running 12 hours when i go to work. When i back to home i click EXIT TO MAIN MENU , and BLACK SCREEN on monitor and after moment display driver crash to desktop.
To kill process i make CTRL + ALT + DELETE logout from system and log in again.
Then my pc rebooted unexpectedly during logging out and logging in to system ( Kernel 41 ).
It happened ( reboot ) once after logging out when game freeze on shutdown. I cant reproduce this anymore.

After reboot i open event log and see only KERNEL-POWER 41 log. No bugcheck. So it was something like power cut,because i dont saw a bugcheck code.

C:/Windows/MEMORY.dmp not exist. C:/Windows/minidump folder not exist


But i found this in windows/livekernelreports/PoW32kwatchdog.dmp <======== ( 1,8GB )

It happened once. I cant reproduce. All my games working fine,no crashes etc. Memtest,ramtest,realbench no issues.


Why that happened ?
It was psu issue? Should i rma?

If all other games work, it will probably be Metro Exodus. There are many technical problems with Metro Exodus. Denuvo 5.5 Anti-Tamper is the copy protection and will not be innocent.

But why system rebooted after the crash? It happened once. And file appeared: --> PoW32kwatchdog.dmp

Because a system can crash and reboot after that. It's a normal thing. Letting an Game run for 12h in idle can cause all sorts of issues.. Maybe the power management got a hiccup.

I had similar problems and still have Division 2 in uplay which also uses this copy protection. The first days after the game appeared, I also had system crashes out of the game. In addition, as soon as the connection to the DRM server fails, the game stops immediately and crashed the computer. One does not find out how it works. The manufacturer simply deletes comments and inquiries.

It happened once, i left game 2x times for 20 hours ( yes i know its waste of electricity ) and clicked EXIT TO MAIN MENU and no crash. Anyway it happened once. It was not psu issue?

A branded power supply with 850 watts. Unlikely. Observe it.

After 12 hours i pressed keyboard ESC and clicked by mouse button EXIT TO MAIN MENU and it not exited to MAIN MENU, but monitor turns black and lost signal. After 1 minute signal to monitor back and it crashed to desktop. After moment i log out and log in to system ,and bum RESET REBoot OF PC.

Somebody said that this reboot was caused: ram,or power issue or oc.

But it happened once . Believe him?

My pc is not oc. All stock,XMP applied only. GPU stock. Psu is brand new ,no other issues. IS any chance that this unexpected reboot was caused by software?

1 arrow: 3 driver crashes from a game with black screen,CTD,turning circle instead of arrow
2 arrow:winlogon, i decide to ctrl alt delete , log out and log back again in
3 arrow: kernel 41 power and weird reboot


It was hardware fluke or software?

To be sure i tested RAMTEST,MEMTEST86,REALBENCH and other all games,no issues. Happened once after Metro.
Somebody said that this was caused by hardware, i am worried.
