Hmmm have done some reading and some people have had some problems with k5 and newer cards...I will probably pull the card apart again this week and check out the application and maybe retry again or go for some gelid extreme thermal pads...if I go that route I'm gonna have a problem with...

Hello again guys!! I finally got around to opening up my card...good news and bad news...gpu temps down 10° and hotspot down around 30°! Now that has definitely helped my overclocking..higher gpu clocks and higher average...I also got my highest score for the gpu 24800...now the bad news... All...

Yep..what I have to do...so dropping your hotspot def helped with your overclocking?

Oh yeah..this only happens when I mess with MPT! a lot of stuff in there😆 ...just gonna have to go through settings then retry etc...but I really have to open up my card as my hotspot is very high with some of the settings I'm using...90-100°...I mentioned in an earlier post that maybe heat...

Thanks for the response! The psu is a corsair HX1200 so I don't think that would be the issue?...yeah I'm gonna have to see what settings in mpt brings it on...someone mentioned too high fclk so maybe try lowering that

Also those random shutdowns...not getting a click that I can hear anyway...screen goes black for a couple of seconds then just shuts down..pc does not restart..it just remains off like a soft shutdown....

What are your other temps like? My hotspot is also extremely high whilst everything is on the low side..im pulling my card apart this weekend and I swear by k5 pro instead of pads..used it on many gpus and got great results..pretty hard to fuck up also 😆

Heya guys...haven't switched drivers yet..was playing around with the settings I had posted earlier...and I can't seem to recreate any of my previous scores with saved MPT and corresponding wattman settings! FPS are down etc...can this happen sometimes? Maybe have to reinstall drivers anyway?
