today the screen stopped working again after installing my canon scanner and rebooting.. although i got it working again by putting the laptop in sleep mode (or is it hibernate/standby?)->push power button once, the standby screen appears/comes back alive so i guess it's an issue with hibernate...

i also had the same problem yesterday (black screen after splash screen-apparaten voorbereiden), i couldn't get it to work untill i found out in this thread that i had to connect a second monitor. i connected my HD tv via HDMI en there it was! :) i configured everything, programs, network/wifi...
