Hi all,

Sorry for communicating in english please bare with me...

I post here since i think there is more feedback on this type of radiator on a german water cooling forum.

This is the rad i am looking at:
Aqua Computer Webshop - airplex radical 4/420, Kupfer-Lamellen 33716

Upcoming parts that i will use: D5 pump with EK top+res, Heatkiller IV pro full copper, Heatkiller gpu full copper for gtx 1070 or gtx 1080, Tygon Norprene and Koolance barbs + spring clamps and 2 pair of Koolance QD4 quick release fittings coolant will be Innovatek Protect. This will be for my next rig x99 LGA2011 v3 and broadwell-e.

One thing that attracts me is the NO flux is used with the radical rad so they are one of the cleanest rads. I did read reviews but they are not that well performing restrictions seems to be on the "medium" side. Can the D5 pump manage to pump through the cpu block, gpu block 2 pair of QD4 and the rad will this decrease flow? How about tempratures?

Or should i just go with XSPC 480 v3 radiator is XSPC still making one of the cleanest rads available? I just want a rad that is clean and yes i always clean my rad before use.

I almost forgot i also have a Aquastream XT pump which is on par with D5 on setting 4 should i use the XT or D5 pump if i use the Radical rad?

Your feedback is welcome, thanks in advance

Hi, yes the D5 pump got more then enough power for the system. The Rads form aquacomputer are very good but on the other side, very expensive. And by the the pure cooper looks pretty cool :-D

Im not the highest versed customloop builder but i would sy that your loop you want to build sounds good.

when want a good Rad that ist is a litte bit cheaper and have good flow too.

for example: Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 420mm | Radiatoren | Shop | Alphacool

But there is no restrictive loop, so you can decide through optical reasons.
The Airplex Radiator is a good one, you have to clean every new radiator, there is no difference. Buy the one you like most, the copper finish the airplex has, doesn't fit well in every build.
Maybe you should think about an extra rad to support the Airplex. It will be able to cool you planed components, but is guess this won't be silent.

D5 is more than capable to flood your system well. The tube-radiators like Airplex radical or Airplex Modularity Sytem are a bit more restrictive, but its not like 100l/h less. Its really not much and the Aquacomputer radiators are all built to perform best at low fan speeds. they don't scale so well in comparison to the Net-radiators like Alphacool Nexxos. I have had the Aquastream XT and i have a D5 Pump. In my opinion the Aquastream is more silent, but thats just my subjective point of view. If you choose a D5 Pump make sure to get one with PWM, as you can find the sweetspot for low noise and max power that you need. Always remeber 60l/h is all you need. Also i do agree that only one 420 Rad might get a bit warm or noisy. if you can squeeze in another radiator, that would be better i think.

Thank you for all the replies and help guy's,

So my impression my water cooling hardware should be more then enough flow wise to handle a cpu and gpu block, two pair of quick release fittings and the airplex radiator. I never used the D5 pump yet but judging from the replies it should be good to go. I have always used a Aquastream XT pump and they are indeed very silent. But my XT is already 7 years old and still going strong (knock on wood). Maybe its time to switch to another pump like the D5 i also have (never used it in loop but did a quick test and works its new).

Before i stumbled upon the Aquacomputer Airplex radical full copper i was contemplating this radiator very good don't know if hardware labs rads are one of the cleanest:

Black Ice SR2 Xtreme+ 480 MP Multi Port Radiator - Black Carbon
Black Ice SR2 Xtreme+ 480 MP Multi Port Radiator - Black Carbon

But thing is which i have a problem with is flux and other crap inside the rad i do know that its needed to clean all rads before use, however ive read that even after throughly washing the rad crap still comes out i rather dont have to deal with that scenario, im not saying this always happens.

One of you mentioned to add a second radiator the thing is my budget won't allow that so if i go with this rad:

Aqua Computer Webshop - airplex radical 4/420, Kupfer-Lamellen 33716

Is this enough to properly cool the cpu like the i7 5820 (140watt) and a gtx 1070/1080 (180watt) lets say the hardware labs 480 rad manage to cool my cpu at 28c idle and 41c load what temps can i expect with the airplex radical 420 copper is it like 32c idle and 46c load? How much of difference in temps can i expect 3 to 5c more? Otherwise i might go with the hardware labs 480 rad and take my chances in regards of flux...

If some one can answer these questions it would be very much helpful to decide which rad to get. Many thanks for the help

there is a therad click me where you can see the difference. Might not be the same size, but it should show you what to expect. It will cool your System, but it might not be very silent. It's important that you make sure that the radiators get fresh air. I hope i could help you. have a nice day

Thanks going to check that link and use google translate and hopefully il understand most of it sometimes google translate is a bit unclear:). I was already planning to put the radiator outside the case like with my previous set up like this see picture so no problem for me.

Hello thanks for the video ive seen it some time ago, i read the german review used the google translation but still was hard for me to understand. I did however managed to send a PM to the guy who made the review and he responded in kind i will wait his recommendations and then decide if il buy the radical rad or not.
