Gleich mal eine Frage: Wenn man auf dem Extreme6 mehr als einen PEG (PCIE2, PCIE4 oder PCIE5) mit einer Karte bestückt (egal welche, müssen keine GraKas sein), dann verlangt das Board, dass man den zusätzlichen "PCIe Power Connector" zur Versorgung der PCIe-Slots verwendet, ansonsten bootet das Board nicht. Lässt sich das irgendwie deaktivieren? Der PCIe Power Connector verlangt nach einem Molex-Stecker, und der zeigt dann seitlich vom Board weg. In meinem Midi-Tower (und sicher auch vielen anderen) kollidiert der so mit dem unten liegenden Netzteil...

Schade, dass das "HDD Saver"-Feature bei den Extreme-Boards anscheinend nur kombiniert für beide angeschlossenen Festplatten genutzt werden kann. Also man deaktiviert entweder beide HDDs oder keine. Einzeln geht wohl nicht. Falls jemand da andere Informationen hat, bitte melden.

...du brauchst ja nur eine am Stromstrang HDD-Saver anschließen ?

Das Handbuch sagt ja das:

power cable to this connector
when more than three graphics
cards are installed.

Aber ich fahr jetzt zur Packstation und hole mein Extreme6 ab.
Heut Abend wenn alles gut läuft kann ich berichten, wobei ich als extra Karte nur eine zweite Graka habe.... Meine Firewire Karte ist noch unterwegs, also kann vielleicht noch etwas dauern.

Wäre interresant ob die Platte wenn ich sie über "HDD Saver" ausgeschalten habe, bei einem Neustart auch aus bleib.
Im Video hab ich das nicht raushörern können, aber vielleicht hab ichs auch überhört....

Läuft einwandfrei auf dem Z97 Extreme6 (sowohl @ AUTO, mit XMP und übertaktet auf DDR3-2400).

Na ja, die Tage kommt noch mein Kühler dann alles mit WAKÜ in den neuen Tower umbauen (schnell?! hahah dauert sicher 1 Woche) und dann Testen.
Aber da deiner geht macht ich mir eigendlich fast keine Sorgen.

Kein Grund zur Sorge, G.SKILL pflegt nämlich eigene QVL und auf der steht dein Board drauf:

Die Chargen seit 2013 sollten alle ein aktuelles XMP oder eventuell sogar ein JEDEC Profil für DDR3-1600 besitzen. Dein Exemplar ist vermutlich sehr alt?

Das Pro3 ist ja schon ne Ecke schmaler. Passt da ein HR-02 Macho (nach hinten rausblasend) RAM-seitig und bei installiertem Gehäuselüfter (hinten) rauf?

Wird knapp, denn das Quadrat das auf den Board sichbar ist um die CPU rum ist ca. 9x9 cm.
Der Kühler hat Abmessungen komplett mit Serienlüfter: 151 × 127 × 162 mm (L × B × H)

Auf der RAM Seite könnte es gehen, denn hier ist der Abstand nicht anders als bei den anderen Boards auch.
Auf der Seite mit den Gehäuselüfter könnte es aber ganz knapp gehen, aber genau kann ich dir das nicht sagen.

Wie ist deine Meinung dazu, das Z97M OCF auch hier im Thread mit aufzunehmen?
Sollte von seinen Eigenschaften her viel besser hierzu passen.

Danke, dass Kompliment kann ich nur erwiedern. Doch ich bin der Meinung, dass das Z97M OC Formula Extrem(e)* gut
zu dem Z97 OC Formula passt, da es sich ja nur um die kleinere Variante handelt.

Schon von der Farbe, Kategorie (OC) und vom Bios sowie vom Namen her kann es nur hier hin gehören:

Farbe und Name stimmen zwar noch überein, allerdings ist das M kein waschechtes OC-Board mehr.
Dafür fehlen zu viele Features.
Aus technischer Sicht passt es eher hier hin.

Sehe ich auch so. Das haben die vergeigt und ich meine nicht damit, das es ein schlechtes Mini Mainboard ist, kommt nur nicht an das Z87 OCF ran, kurz gesagt.
Laut Nick Shih soll es sich aber trotzdem gut beim Ram UC machen.

Schöne bilder. Besonders das dritte ist eines der wenigen bilder, auf denen die blaue farbe gut rüberkommt.
Ich war ganz überrascht wie kräftig das blau der Kühlkörper bei dem board aussieht, als ich meins ausgepackt habe. Die Bilder der reviews geben die farben nicht so gut wieder.

Also ich kann mich bisher nicht beschweren über das Extreme4.
Eingebaut mit 4690k, 2x4GB Gskill TridentX 2400mhz CL10 XMP Profile laufen beide 1a.
Sehr attraktiv das Board ! Hohe Fertigungsqualität m.m.n
