Festplattenfehler: Wie kritisch?

Moin,

ich habe eine Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 (ST2000DM001-9YN16).
Ich habe (wie üblich regelmäßig) einen SMART Extended offline Test laufen lassen, dabei hatte ich das erste mal einen Fehler: Completed: read failure at LBA irgendwas.
Nun bin ich alle diese Blöcke durch gegangen, habe geschaut, auf welcher Partition sie liegen, welche Dateien sie betreffen und die defekten Blöcke anschließend neu beschrieben. Dies hat scheinbar auch bei allen Blöcken geklappt, so dass der letzte Test erfolgreich durchgelaufen ist. Reallocated_Sector_Ct ist immer noch bei 0, daraus schließe ich, dass diese Blöcke alle noch intakt waren und es nur ein Fehler des Festplatten Controllers war.
Die SMART Daten sind weiter unten. Meine Frage ist, wie kritisch ist der Zustand der Festplatte einzuschätzen?
Ich kenne mich mit den SMART Werten leider nicht so gut aus, vor allem, da sie ja auch von Hersteller zu Hersteller unterschiedlich zu deuten sind.

Wenn Du diese Anzeige nicht sehen willst, registriere Dich und/oder logge Dich ein.

Dem Controller würde ich die Schuld nicht zuschieben, es können gekippte Bits gewesen sein, oder der Kopf hat nicht die richtige Flughöhe gehabt und die Sektoren deswegen nicht sauber auslesen können, 3 High_Fly_Writes sind ja auch vermerkt.

Jeden Platte kann jederzeit spontan komplett ausfallen, deshalb lagt man ja auch regelmäßig Backups seiner wichtigen Daten an. Diese sieht aber nicht so aus, als wäre das Risiko dafür bei ihr besonders hoch.

Du störtst Dich vielleicht an den Rohwerten der Attributen Read- und Seek Error Rate. Dazu folgendes:
Dezimal 54681864 = 0x3426108, also nur 7 Stellen und damit sind da noch keine Lesefehler. Wie Du siehst ist die dezimale Darstellung Rohwerte bei den Seagate HDDs sehr unpraktisch.

Lag ich mit meiner Einschätzung ja größtenteils richtig.

Backups sind vorhanden, die wichtigsten Daten jede bis maximal alle 2 Wochen ;-)

Sehr gute Erläuterung, danke, aber mir ging es nicht in erster Linie um die Read- und Seek Error Rate.
Ich hatte davor etwas zu dem Fehler gegoogelt und dort meinte einer, dass der Wert seiner Festplatte bei Hersteller x einen sicheren Tod bedeuten würde, bei einem anderen aber vollkommen normal wäre. Deswegen wollte ich da lieber mal einen Experten auf die Werte loslassen ;-)
 
Da hilft nur beobachten. Ich kenne Platten, die bei Erwärmung Sektoren nicht mehr lesen konnten, hab von Platten gehört, die die gleichen Sektoren immer nach dem Schreiben nach einer Weile nicht mehr lesen konnten...
Bei einer Festplatte ist das häufig ein Prozess. Tauchen die Fehler wieder auf, dann ist sie wohl nicht so toll. Aber vielleicht auch kurz vorher unerwartet Strom weg? 35 Power Off Retract Counts lassen sowas auch zu.
Also, Backup machen und beobachten.
Achja, die Platte war nie wärmer als 40 Grad... Ich würde eine Platte am Anfang etwas stressen, die darf auch mal 50 - 55 Grad warn werden. Ist anscheinen besser, wenn man diesen google Stats von vor ein paar Jahren trauen darf. Trennt die Spreu schneller vom Korn ;)

Da gibt es viele Ursachen bis hin zu natürlichen Strahlungen (radioakiv wie kosmisch), denen wir ja alle ausgesetzt sind. Bei den heutigen Datendichten und Aufzeichnungsformaten sind die Bits ja winzig, dass sollte man nicht vergessen und gekippte Bits sind auch nicht so ungewöhnlich, dafür gibt es ja sie ECC am Ende jedes Sektors um diese zu erkennen und möglichst zu korrigieren auch wenn das Korrigieren eben nur bis in einem bestimmten Umfang möglich ist.

Backups sind vorhanden, die wichtigsten Daten jede bis maximal alle 2 Wochen ;-)
Das ist löblich.

dort meinte einer, dass der Wert seiner Festplatte bei Hersteller x einen sicheren Tod bedeuten würde, bei einem anderen aber vollkommen normal wäre.
Da hat er auch recht und wie Du siehst, bei Deiner sind die normal und zeigen noch keinen Fehler an.
 
35 Power Off Retract Counts lassen sowas auch zu.
Uff, danke, war mir gar nicht aufgefallen. Wüsste jetzt eigentlich nicht, wann das alles gewesen sein soll.
Ansonsten sehr interessant was du schreibst, die Tipps werde ich auf jeden Fall bei der nächsten Platte berücksichtigen! Normal (bis jetzt) beschreibe ich am Anfang die komplette Platte mit 0en und lasse danach Smart testen.

Nochmal danke für die ausführliche Erklärung. Komme in letzter Zeit aufgrund von Arbeit zu nichts, deswegen melde ich mich auch erst jetzt wieder. Wenn ich wieder Zeit habe, teste ich die Platte auf jeden Fall noch einmal :-)
 
Ok, die Platte hatte nun noch 2x den selben "Fehler" :-(
Werde dann nun vorübergehend erstmal die "beste" Backupplatte reaktivieren. Sieht soweit gut aus, oder?

Welcher Fehler? Die Daten der WD sehen gut aus, da ist nur ein Multi_Zone_Error, also Schreibfehler registriert.
 
Der Fehler, dass die Sektoren nicht wieder richtig geschrieben/behalten wurden und somit defekte LBAs gemeldet wurden.
Nein, das sind die Werte der Platte, die die defekte erst einmal ersetzt.
 
Dann poste doch mal die Werte der Platte wo der Fehler aufgetreten ist.
