LG W2600HP ,some questions

Excuse me for the english, i'm from Holland,
I have been reading all the threads about the W2600HP ,and i'd like to have one ,if i can get one , all dutch shops are sold out at the moment.
I will be using it for surfing ,Photoshop and movies , no gaming ; my question is : i have read that watching a movie at night is a disaster,i don't really understand this , why would it be so different watching a movie day or night ? what exactly happens ?

I can't understand it all perfectly but my impression is that the viewing angle is somehow changed at night ?

Then viewing angle ist not the real problem.This Display has no polarizer !

This means if you look from the side you will see not real black but a kind of grey.If you are view is fixed in the middle of the screens you dont have a problem.

The bigger problem is to buy one today cause threre is no LG 2600 on the market to get.

I think you have to wait one or two month till we get a new modell from LG.

As an alternative take a look at the HP 2475.It is also IPS based and in your pricerange the best deal.

Several shops have lowered their expected waiting time from about a week and more to 2-4 days. There was also a discussion whether LG was going to release a newer revision of the W2600HP.
I will check that and get back to you later.

Thank you for your reply ,but i thought that a ips based monitor would be better towatch movies on , if you are not exactly in in front of it ,i sometimes wathch a movie with my wife sitting about 1 meter distance from the panel ,therefore the question, i guess i just have to try it out ,IF i can get this monitor !

The LG 2600 is not that good for photoshop, maybe you should take a look at the NEC 24WMGX³, its a new model and was tested very good at prad.de. At the moment it costs about 600€, but only at 2 shops. The rest delivers beginning at 850€. Maybe one of the two cheap shops delivers to holand ..

Indeed i reread the prad test , and the 2600 seems not optimal for fotowork ,perhaps i should look further ,i do like the idea of a 26 inch ,nice and big and bigger letters than a 24 .
i guess it has to be a compromise ,i'd like to stay around the 500 euro's,
I just got LG holland on the phone, the 2600 is not being delivered anymore in nl.

For now i bought the Acer AL2623W at Mediamarkt for 265 euro ,with PVA panel.I think a good price, i bought 2 ,one goes back to MM ,one had a slight red haze , one is ok , no " humming " noise , just a known problem with the resolution going down 1 step sometimes, but since i had the xp power settings altered to : switch monitor off after 1 minute if not used i have not seen this problem.
Colors seem fine for photohsop work.
Just a slight problew with a " halo or haze " around fonts , i will make a post about this.

I might later look at the new LG when it comes out.
