AMD hat ATI gekauft, somit entstand ein neues Unternehmen namens AMD, dass unter diesem Namen auch seine Produkte verkaufen wird. Ob auch die Produktnamen wie "Radeon" etc. verschwinden werden ist bisher noch unklar. Chris Hook von ATI äußerte sich zu diesem Thema wie folgt:I don't have a personal emotional attachment to it (ATI), one way or another. I think the important thing is that we're going to make good products. ATI may be gone, but certainly lots of discussion is going to come over the next few days about the rest of our brands and their strengths.
Es ist also durchaus möglich, dass sich bald erste "AMD Radeon" Produkte einfinden werden.Update:
Oben genannte Quelle scheint einen Großteil des Gesprächs falsch verstanden zu haben, denn AMD bzw. ATI gaben nun bekannt, dass der Markenname ATI sehr wohl erhalten bleibt.
