Blackmagic Deisgn bietet alles erdenkliche an Hardware, wenn es um Video-Produktionen geht. Dazu gehören Capture Cards ebenso wie auch professionellen Kameras für mehrere tausend US-Dollar. Nun hat man auf der NAB in Las Vegas die Pocket Cinema Camera präsentiert. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Super-16-Kamera in einem kompakten Gehäuse aus Magnesium. Der Sensor misst 12,48 x 7,02 mm und zeichnet in 1920 x 1080 Pixel auf. Die Video-Aufzeichnung erfolgt in Lossless CinemaDNG RAW und Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) bei gleicher Auflösung und Frameraten von 23,98, 24, 25, 29,97 und 30 FPS. Aufgezeichnet wird auf SD-Speicherkarten.

Die Pocket Cinema Camera misst dabei 128 x 66 x 38 mm und wiegt nur 355 g. Das Display auf der Rückseite hat eine Diagonale von 3,5 Zoll und löst mit 800 x 480 Pixel auf. Hier sind auch einige der Bedienelemente zu finden, die restlichen platzierte Blackmagic Design auf der Oberseite. Als Objektiv-Bajonett setzt Blackmagic Design auf Micro Four Thirs (MFT) sowie zahlreiche Adapter, um auch professionellen Ansprüchen gerecht zu werden.
