Das Vaio Fit war bisher ein Einsteiger-Ultrabook von Sony. Doch auf der IFA wurde mit dem VAIO Fit multi-flip ein neues Modell vorgestellt, das deutlich flexibler als ein klassisches Ultrabook ist und in einigen Ausstattungsvarianten auch alles andere als ein Einsteigergerät ist.
Die Displayrückseite des VAIO Fit multi-flip ist zweigeteilt, beide Teile sind mit einem Scharnier verbunden. Dadurch kann das Display nach hinten geklappt und dann umgedreht auf die Tastatur gefaltet werden. Anschließend lässt sich das Gerät als Windows 8-Tablet nutzen. Sony bleibt sich treu und bietet auch das Fit multi-flip mit einem hochauflösenden Full HD-Display an, das natürlich Multitouch unterstützt. Optional wird es aber sogar ein Display mit 2880 x 1620 Pixeln geben.

Das Multi-Flip-Gerät hat ein Aluminiumgehäuse. Sony bietet es gleich in verschiedenen Formaten an: Mit 13,3-, 14-, und 15,5-Zoll-Display. Im Inneren kommt in jedem Fall ein aktueller Intel Haswell-Prozessor zum Einsatz. Die Spezifikationen variieren je nach Modell, außerdem gibt es noch verschiedene Ausstattungsvarianten. Details können der von Sony bereitgestellten Tabelle entnommen werden.
