Mercury präsentiert Cell Prozessor für den PCI-Express Slot
[url=http://www.mc.com]Mercury Computer Systems[/url] hat eine PCI-Express x16 Karte mit Cell BE Prozessor vorgestellt, wie er unter anderem auch in der Playstation 3 eingesetzt wird. Die Karte eignet sich besonders für das Video-Editing oder Rendering. Der Prozessor arbeitet mit einem Takt von 2.80 GHz und kann auf 2x 512 MB XDR DRAM zurückgreifen. Hinzu kommen noch 4 GB DDR2 Speicher und 2x 16 MB Flashspeicher für den schnellen Zugriff. Der Preis der leistungssarken 180 GFLOPS Erweiterungskarte soll bei rund 7.000 Dollar liegen.
