Der Vorreiter im Bereich der stereoskopischen 3D-Darstellung am PC, NVIDIA, geht nun mit 3D Vision Live einen Schritt weiter. So entwickelte man ein entsprechendes Plugin für die Microsoft Media Platform: Player Framework 2.5 (ehemals Silverlight Media Framework), das es Web-Entwicklen ermöglicht, auf Basis von Microsoft Silverlight Webstreams und Fotomaterial in stereoskopischem 3D darzustellen. IIS Smooth Streaming sowie Microsoft PlayReady DRM werden ebenso unterstützt. Das Unternehmen stellte den neuen Videoplayer in dem Las Vegas Convention Center zwischen dem 11. und 14. April vor. NVIDIA und Kooperationspartner Microsoft äußerten sich wie folgt:

Beziehen können Web-Entwickler das kostenlose Plugin nach Registrierung hier. Dort ist es außerdem möglich, einige 3D-Videoclips und Fotos anzuschauen, sofern die entsprechenden Voraussetzungen (GeForce GPU, 120Hz Display oder Projektor und NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit) erfüllt werden.
