Wie angekündigt, steht auf der Homepage von Microsoft nun die Beta-Version des Service Pack 2 für Windows Vista sowie Windows Server 2008 als Download bereit. Die Beta-Version enthält alle bisherigen Sicherheitsupdates sowie Hotfixes, welche seit der Veröffentlichung des Service Pack 1 im März dieses Jahres erschienen sind. Darüber hinaus soll das Update Unterstützung für neue Hardware und Technik-Standards mit sich bringen. Die 32-Bit-Version umfasst 388 Megabyte und die 64-Bit-Fassung kommt mit 614 Megabyte daher. Außerdem steht ein ISO-Image mit 1,2 Gigabyte zur Verfügung, welches alle Versionen beinhaltet.
