Anfängerfragen - Linux Neuling? Hier ist der richtige Platz für deine Fragen (2)

Hi,
ich hab hier ein Problem mit 2 Monitoren unter Mandriva 2010 und einer 5870.
Wenn ich mit beiden Monitoren angesteckt den Rechner hochfahre, hab ich ab dem Anmeldungsbildschirm kein Bild mehr, Beide kriegen kein Signal (HP ZR24w 1920x1200 und Acer AL1917 1280x1024). Wenn ich mit einem Monitor boote gehts.
Ich hab schon probiert:
-ohne xorg.conf, trotzdem gehts nicht
-ATI Treiber installiert, danach bootet der PC nicht mehr bzw es kommt eine Meldung: "Failed to start the X server (your graphical interface). It is likely that it is not set up correctly. Would you like to configure it?" Wenn ich ihn da dann neu konfiguriere kommt die Meldung aber immer wieder. (weiß dazu jemand vielleicht was?)

Ich will beide Monitore erweitert betreiben, also nicht klonen.

hast du den server selbst kompiliert oder per pm geholt?
 
apt-get install mysql-server :) So hab ichs gemacht. Aber wie schon gesagt habe ich wenig Linux Erfahrung
 
Hallo folgendes problem:

Ich muss von einer VM ubuntu server edition 10.04 dateien auf einen anderen Rechner transferieren.

also bin ich wie in der anleitung NFS vorgegangen und habe auf meinem Rechner eine nfs-freigabe erstellt und diese dann in der vm gemountet.

danach wollte ich mit <cp> die datei übertragen, diese konnte danach auch im gemounteten ornder "/media/netzwerk" durch verwenden von <dir> auf der vm angezeigt werden. Auf dem Ziel rechner, wo die Freigabe liegt, kam allerdings nichts an. Warum?

Rechte wurde mit <chmod> zur Sicherheit auf 777 gesetzt.

Dann habe ich die vm neugestartet, dummerweise ohne unmount der nfs-Freigabe. Nach dem Neustart konnte ich die Freigabe nicht mehr mounten.
folgender Fehler kam:

mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting 192.168.25.20:/media/LinuxDaten/temp/vpn

wie komme ich die Daten jetzt aus der VM?

okay, hat sich gelöst, ich hatte nur vergessen den nfs-server neuzustarten.
 
Wenn ich mit meinem Linux-OS von einer Festplatte oder einem Image auf ein USB-Stick oder eine andere Festplatte koppieren will, kann ich das wirklich mit
dd if=/dev/(HDD) of=/dev/(Ziel) bs=512 count=2 machen ? Also ich will nicht den MBR & GRUB neuschreiben müssen...
 
In der Regel sollte dies funktionieren! Je nach dem wie dein Grub eingerichtet ist, kann es aber zu Problemen kommen. Allerdings nur in dem Fall, wenn dein Grub mit UUIDs anstatt /dev/sdX o.ä arbeitet. Was an DD halt doof ist, dass es keine Progressanzeige hat... und die Zielplatte muss mindestens genauso viele Blöcke haben. Kleiner geht halt garnicht.

Zu eins kann ich sagen, Ja.
Hab auch schonmal mit DD direkt von Gerät auf Gerät geschrieben, das funktioniert.
Aber wie gesagt falls grub mit der UUID arbeitet, wirds nicht mehr laufen.
 
Hab jetzt mal eine Frage, ich habe mir Debian installiert und möglichst wenig ausgewählt, also standart installation und beim Punkt wo man auswählen kann ob Mail-server SQL-Server, Desktop installiert werden soll, habe ich alles deaktiviert und das hat auch ganz gut funktioniert, bis ich debian herunterfahren wollte, das funzte nicht.

also ich habe es erstmal mit dem Runlevel 0, also "init 0" eingeben aber er sagte nur unknown command

dann habe ich noch shutdown -h now versucht aber das kannte er auch nicht.

Wie kann ich debian jetzt also herunterfahren, ohne den Pc bzw. hier VM einfach auszuschalten?
 
Hast du die Befehle als root ausgeführt?
Ansonsten mal mit halt probieren.

ah okay, war nicht als root drin. Sagt mal ich dachte der root wäre bei debian gesperrt und durch sudo erstetzt worden, oder ist das nur bei installierter grafischer Oberfläche der Fall.
 
Root ist ein User mit vollständigen Rechten.
Sudo ist ein Program mit dem ein normaler User Programme mit den Berechtigungen eines anderen Users ausführen kann (z.B. root)
 
Und root ist auch nur bei Ubuntu gesperrt und Superuser-Rechte durch das Programm sudo ermöglicht. Debian ist da noch "ganz normal" :p
 
Hab gerade versucht unter ubuntu 10.04 Folding@Home zum Laufen zu bringen. Allerdings bekomm ich dabei nur folgende Fehlermeldung:

Ich hab mir jetzt mal origami per apt-get install origami heruntergeladen und dann durch sudo origami install -u Fry12 -t 70911 meine Daten eingetragen.

Nachdem ich origami mit sudo origami start starten will, kommt nur die Meldung: ERROR: UNABLE TO START LOCAL SERVICE.

Bin leider absoluter Linux Neuling (hab ubuntu erst seit zwei Tagen ;) ) und kann mir deswegen keinen Reim drauf machen.

Ich hab das Asus EeePC 901 mit Touchscreen mod.
Wollte gestern mal testweise den Ubuntu Netbook Remix installieren, und hab mir einen Live-Usbstick erstellt.
Ich war höchst erfreut, dass mein Touchscreen erkannt wird, nur leider ist er völlig unkalibriert.
Sprich die Achsen sind vertauscht :wall:

Ich hab dann nach einem Kalibrierungstool gegoogelt und auch eins gefunden, das funktioniert hat, nur leider hab ich vergessen, dass es eine Live-Installation ist, und somit vergessen mir da was aufzuschreiben...

Der Treiber scheint der sogenannte evtouch zu sein, und es gibt auch ganz viele Anleitungen zur Kalibrierung über die Xorg.conf, aber da wollte ich lieber nicht drin rumfurwerken... ich will lieber ein Tool, das dass schnell und einfach macht (gibts ja auch, nur ich finds nicht mehr)

Kann mir da jemand helfen?

Wie kann ich via tftp server von *.img oder *.iso starten, habe einen DHCP Server und einen tftp Server am laufen und mithilfe des entpackten Ubuntu Netboot Archivs (wo pxelinux drin ist), startet die netboot Maschine einwandfrei, aber wie mache ich das mit obengenannten images, wo kein pxelinux.0 da ist?

/edit: wenn man das ArchLinux netbook image mal als Beispiel nimmt

@Freggl: kannst du die *.img oder *.iso nicht einfach per mount einhaengen und dann davon booten?
 
PPC? was hast du denn fuer einen rechner am laufen?

probier es einfach mal ohne -t hinter mount, vielleicht passt das so.
also:
mount ftp://deinserver/arch.iso /media/livedisk

es gibt auch spezielle remote filesystems wie zum beispiel smbfs fuer samba netzwerke.
 
Das Problem ist, er will ja das ein FS Type angegeben wird. Deshalb ists so problematisch das mounten, da ich nicht weis wie.
 
probier es vielleicht mal mit mount -t auto

ansonsten hier mal aus der manpage:

-t, --types vfstype
The argument following the -t is used to indicate the filesystem type. The

*edit: sollte der inhalt der iso fuer mount nicht total egal sein? das hat ja eigentlich nichts mit dem FS zu tun.

seit wann kann man über ftp eine datei mounten (mount ftp://...)? theoretisch möglich, praktisch aber nicht sinnvoll, da man dann ja gleich die datei runterladen könnte, bzw. wird das so der fall sein, vor dem mounten.
