Hat jemand zufällig Lust & Zeit bei einem ASRock Pro4 mal den Kühler über den Spawas zu messen? Konkret wäre ich an Breite und Länge der Bodenplatte interessiert. Das Ding ist nicht zufällig 3 cm breit?

Booten vom Stick an einem der ASMEDIA Ports geht auch nicht? So das wir Windows auschließen können.
Wie lange hat man den Garantie auf das Board? Halbes Jahr?

Muss ich heute Abend nochmal testen. Habe den Controller im Moment im Bios ganz abgeschaltet und zusätzlich eine NEC/Renesas - Karte eingebaut.
Vielleicht probiere ich es auch nochmal mit einem CMOS-Reset.

Also nach einem CMOS - Clear funktioniert der Asmedia - Controller wieder. Allerdings ist er anscheinend deutlich langsamer, als die Intel und NEC/Renesas - Controller (10MB/s bei HDTune, getestet mit WD My Book).

Gibt es irgend wo Tipps und Hilfe wie man beim extreme 6 mit oc anfängt das Board ist etwas kompliziert und umfangreicher als das damalige p8z67 Board von mir 😂bzw welche Funktionen man auch garnicht braucht

Es gibt keinen iastore, nur den iaStor und den iaStorA (seid 11.2) und die Enterprise sind nicht für den Z97. Schau mit Drive Controller Info welcher wirklich installiert ist, aber eigentlich sollten alle aktuellen Versionen gehen, aber die letzten (13.5) waren ja angeblich nur für die NUCs. Schau einfach mal in den Downloadbereich bei Computerbase.

Servus! Ich hatte bisher das Fatality z68 Gen 3

Nun will ich auf den 1150er umsteigen wegen der SATA III Ports.

Ich schwanke zwischen dem Extreme 6 und dem Extreme 4.
Bei mir läuft auf dem Board nur noch ne 7970. Trotzdem sind ja die Lanes beim Extreme 6 teilweise über die PCH angebunden und nicht über die CPU und würde somit keine Lanes verlieren wenn ich eine Karte stecke.
Zusätzlich m2 und so weiter.

Frage: Seht Ihr noch weitere Themen zwischen dem 6er und dem 4er?

@epica80, so smart wie viele meinen sind diese Samrtphones eben doch nicht

@Tekkno_Frank, was meinst Du? Das Extreme 6 hat: 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x16, x8), 1x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x2), wobei der letzte die Lanes vom PCH hat, da würde ich keine Graka einbauen.
Das Extreme 4 hat 3x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x16, x8, x4), da sind alle von der CPU und im Grund ist es ähnlich wie beim Extreme 6, nur sind beim E6 dann die 4 Lanes des letzten Slots am Ultra-M.2 Slot zu finden, den das E4 nicht hat und dafür hat es eben diesen x16 mit nur 2 PCIe 2.0 Lanes nicht, den das E6 hat. Wenn Du nur eine Graka hast, ist es egal welches Du nimmt. Bei Grakas ist es auch egal, die werden bei beiden dann x8/x8 laufen, erst wenn Du den dritten x16 Slot des E4 oder den Ultra-M.2 Slot des E6 benutzt, wird es bei beiden dann x8/x4/x4 sein. Letztlich ist also die Frage, ob Du eine schnelle PCIe angebundene SSD eher als M.2 oder als Slotkarte kaufen wirst, wobei Du eine M.2 im E4 mit so einem DeLOCK M.2 auf PCIe 3.0 x4 Adapter (89370) ebenso betreiben kannst.

Der x16 Slot mit nur 2 PCIe 2.0 Lanes des E6 ist aber z.B. für so eine x2 Karte wie die Digitus DS-30104-1 interessant, die passt da wie die Faust aufs Auge, denn beim E6 ist ein PCIe Lane Switch für einige der PCIe 2.0 Lanes des PCH verbaut und einige Controller / Slots teilen sich daher die Bandbreite, so z.B. die beiden ASM 1061.

Hallo zusammen,

ich wollte gerne Euren Rat in Bezug auf die Vorgehensweise beim Übertakten. Die Möglichkeiten scheinen mir noch viel größer geworden zu sein, als damals beim Q9550 E0.
Ebenso finde ich das Bios des Boards recht komplex und auch nach einlesen von FAQs erschlossen sich mir noch nicht all meine Fragen. Auch mit Hilfe vieler Screenshots...bei asrock siehts anders aus als bei Asus oder MSI, was oft abgebildet wird. Es gibt einfach zu viel und daher wende ich mich nun an Euch.

Der Screenshot zeigt die aktuellen Einstellungen - CPU Input Volt & Vcore sowie Vcore Override usw.

Ich würde mich freuen, wenn mir jmd Richtwerte empfehlen kann auf die ich aufbauen kann.
Bzw mein Wunsch ist es erst einmal dann die richtigen Punkte im Bios zu finden. Vieles klingt auch schon einfach zu ähnlich.

Also bei mir ist schon wieder der Asmedia - USB - Controller verschwunden. Rechner gestern Abend hochgefahren, die Dockingstation und WD My Book wurden nicht mehr erkannt. Gerätemanager gesprüft, Asmedia - Controller ist weg. Ich habe den Chip jetzt im Bios ausgeschaltet. Macht ja keinen Sinn....Ärgerlich ist es schon.

@Horsi: Den ASRock Support mal kontaktiert deswegen? In den Anfängen von USB 3.0 hatte ich das auch mal und das MB wurde anstandslos getauscht.

Ne, habe ich noch nicht. Im Moment genügen mir die 4 Ports hinten auch. Habe ehrlich gesagt auch keine Lust, wieder rum zubasteln (man wird alt).
Dämlich ist das schon, zumal ich von Asus Z87 wg. dem Clock-Bug auf Asrock umgestiegen bin....Und nun das :-(

Mal ne aktuelle Info.

Ich hab ein z97 Extreme 4 hier mit 1.50er Bios.

Meine Tastatur (logitech illumintaed) hat verursacht, dass der Rechner nach dem Runterfahren von selbst wieder angeht. Es half nichts dies zu verhindern. Alles ausgemacht, alles abgeklemmt. Sobald die Tastatur dran war ging er wieder an und musste durch drücken der Powertaste ausgemacht werden, dann blieb er aus. Nicht sonderlich hardwarefreundlich.

ASROCK angemailt und dann kam die Antwort:

We don’t have the keyboard here so far.
Please check this:
1. load BIOS default setting.
2. adjust Deep sleep to enable in S5.
3. check if you have installed some devices with external power(usb hub, monitor with USB hub), if so, remove them for try.
4. disable Legacy support for verify. (Note: keyboard cannot be used in BIOS)

Nr. 2 wars..... Deep Sleep Enable in S5. Ist default deaktiviert.
Ist etwas versteckt zu finden, aber seitdem bleibt der Rechner aus.

Nur falls auch noch wer das Problem hat.

Hat bei euch auch jemand das Problem, dass eine übertaktete CPU unter Linux nicht runtergetaktet wird?
Unter Windows hingegen taktet die CPU im idle anstandslos runter.

Also es liegt am intel_pstate CPU Governor. Deaktiviert man ihn per intel_pstate=disable in der Kernelzeile funktioniert es.
Find es super, dass der von Intel entwickelte Governor nicht mit übertakteten CPUs umgehen kann. Bravo!

Nur mal so zur Info:

1) HDD Saver arbeitet hervorragend! Habe eine 8TB Archive HDD da dran, per Software an- und ausschaltbar. Tut genau das was es soll. Im Bios muss auf HotPlug gestellt sein. Damit wunderbar im Media-Server nutzbar als Backup.

2) Areca Raid Controller muss der PCIe von Auto auf Gen2 gestellt werden sonst erfolgt kein Boot, bzw. Windows hängt bei der Fahne.

Ansonsten läuft das Board sehr sparsam und reibungslos.
