Hallo.
Ich hab ein z97 extreme 6 und möchte eine neue SSD in den Rechner einbauen. Hätte die SAMSUNG 960 EVO 500GB M.2 ausgesucht.
Meine Frage ist, ob das Board problemlos von einer M-2 SSD bootet, und zwar mit Linux.
Hat da jemand Erfahrungen gemacht?

Fürs Z97 Extreme 6 gibt es eine BIOS Update auf Version 2.80.

Nachdem mein Setup jahrelang ohne Probleme lief, wollte ich mich mal ans OC begeben, aber bei Änderung irgendeiner der dortigen Einstellungen, mit Ausnahme vom RAM XMP Profil und RAM Voltate ist das Ergebnis, dass nach Save/Reload:

- Er nichtmal zum BIOS Postscreen kommt, der Bildschirm bleibt schwarz, alle Lüfter laufen. DrDebug Codes ist entweder aus, B2, A9 oder F4
- Er genau einmal ins Windows lädt, dort solange wie gewünscht läuft, aber nach einem Restart obiges Problem wieder auftritt
- Er wie oben ins WIndows lädt, aber der Bildschirm bleibt schwarz.
- Lediglich durch ein CMOS Clear bzw. die Rückkehr zu den Defaults lässt es wieder laufen
- Das ganze habe ich jetzt in allen mir erdenklichen Kombinationen ausprobiert (HDMI und DP, GPU und iGPU [kann GPU nicht entfernen da Wakü-Setup], Bios P1.30 und P2.50, einige Monitor-Menü Einstellungen des Dell, verschiedenste UEFI OC Settings [z.Bsp jeweils nur eins der folgenden: BLCK 100, Multiplikator 40 - also Default, 42 o.ä, mit Erhöhung der Vcore oder ohne, etc. etc.]

Ich habe mit seltsamen Problemen zu kämpfen, wenn ich in den OC Settings meines Z97 Extreme4 irgendetwas außer den Ram Einstellungen verändere, also ganz unabhängig von den Werten, selbst wenn es nur die Defaults sind. Statt wie sonst auch normal zu booten, kriege ich nur einen Blackscreen (vor Bios Screen) mit oder ohne DrDebug Codes (B2, A9 oder F4). Das ganze lässt sich nur durch einen CMOS Clear, Rückehr zu Defaults o.ä. ändern. Manchmal schafft er auch einen Boot bis ins Windows und läuft dort bis ich restarte. Aber spätestens dann tritt das Problem erneut auf.

Ist jetzt nicht mein erstes OC, aber ich kann mit Ausschlussverfahren nicht hinter die Ursache kommen.

Mein Hardware Setup:

MB: Asrock Z97 Extreme4, mit P1.3 ODER P2.5
CPU: Intel i7 4790k
GPU: AMD R290 4GB, normalerweise mit DP, aber auch mit Hdmi getestet
RAM: 2x Crucial 8GB F3-2400C10-16GTX, getestet als SingleModul und A1/B1 bzw. A2/B2
SSD: Crucial M500 500GB im Sata3_ß
PSU: Seasonic X460 Fanless
OS: Win7 x64
Monitor: Dell U2711 mit aktivem oder deaktiviertem DDC/CI

Hallo liebe Gemeinde.
Ich stecke vor einem "Luxusproblem", aber dennoch möchte ich eine Max-Speed-Lösung.
In meinem Extreme4 sind die SATA-SSDs in Rente geschickt und stattdessen zwei M2 (eine 950 Pro und eine 970 Pro) in 2 Aquacomputer PCIe 4x Steckkarten.
Da ich neuerdings eine GTX 970 auf PCIE2 habe, sind die beiden M2s in PCIE5 und PCIE6 (ASRock-Nomenklatur) gelandet.
Gemäß Zuordnung der PCIe Lanes auf diesem Board liegen also alle M2s auf den Lanes der CPU, 8 für die GTX und je 4 für die M2s ähnlich einer SLI-Anbindung 3er simultaner Grafikkarten (siehe Seite 2 und 19 im Manual)
Ich wußte, dass mit dem neusten BIOS eine Auto-Zuordnung die Linkspeed auf Gen 2 gesetzt wird.
Das kann man für PCIE2 und PCIE5 manuell im BIOS von Auto auf Gen3 stellen, klappt auch.
Wie kann ich jedoch den PCIE6 auf Gen3 stellen? Der läuft als einziger Slot noch auf Gen2 und somit ist eine der beiden M2 SSDs ein wenig gebremst. Dafür scheint im BIOS die Einstellung zu fehlen!!!
