Hi, I have a question? I have an old acer aspire a315 21g (about 4 years old). When it was plugged in, there was a storm outside, and there was a moment when the power almost went out, but it didn't. It kept running for 20-30 minutes after this event and then just shut off completely. It wouldn't start at all. I tried turning it on with no battery and plugged it in to see if it turns on xender. It didn't even show that it was charging. I sent it in for repair. After their diagnosis, they said the battery was bad and they needed to change it. My question is also, is the battery defective? The laptop should have booted normally just with no battery plugged in? Can the battery really affect the laptop like it's dead?
