Hallo,

I bought an RTX 4080 (Inno3D) on November 17th, 2022. Unfortunately, there is always the problem that at least one screen is not properly controlled (the screen seemingly no longer recognizes a signal, or only gets the information to show black, and then remains black until the restart / sometimes works again after 1-3 minutes). This occurs from time to time throughout the day - seemingly independent of the content. And it may happen 2-3 times a day and then zero times for like another few days. It seems to happen a bit more often when booting the PC from sleep mode, but I've encountered the problem with regular (re)boots as well. It can also happen that no image is displayed at all, not even of the boot process, although the mainboard is booting (booting process and error codes can be displayed on the mainboard).
I usually have 2-3 monitors in use (Dell is main, and a Benq 2k and LG 4k as second and third) and while the problem can occur on all monitors at the same time, more often it only affects one (random, but I think a bit more often the main display) of them. Since then I have also replaced the monitor, connected high-quality and compatible cables and replaced them in turn.
The problem is actually there from the start. Immediately after the release, when I bought it, Nvidia already pointed out that black screens are known to occur and that a solution is being worked on. So I didn’t think much and waited for some driver updates / firmware. A few months ago, support pointed out a firmware update that was supposed to fix black screens on the 4080 and 4090. I installed that but didn't see much improvement. I also update drivers and Windows 11 Pro regularly, but the problem persists. Otherwise, the setup runs error-free and without overclocking. Also stress testing whatever I want doesn’t seem to provoke any error / overheating or something like that.
I have already checked individual components separately and found no problems. Also, with the previously installed RTX 3080, such problems never occurred. To be on the safe side, as mentioned, I checked all components and replaced those such as the power supply unit or monitor to be sure.
My hardware: Win 11 Pro, main monitor: Dell g3223q (4k 144Hz HDR), RTX 4080, i9 12900k, 32GB DDR5 @ 5600, WD_BLACK M.2, 980 Pro M.2, 970 EVO M2, be Quiet straight Power 1000W, be Quiet 802, MSI z690 Unify, MSI AIO 360;
As far as the rest of the hardware is concerned, the PC is in excellent condition and also very well maintained and ventilated. The peripheral devices are also new, work perfectly, and I have already disconnected them from the device to be on the safe side. I can now also rule out a software error (I have also completely reinstalled the PC, flashed the mainboard / performed a bios update, etc.). I also completely reinstalled the graphics drivers with DDU. Unfortunately no improvement - and now it seems to me at least as if the error occurs a little more often and it's getting annoying, especially since there's no improvement in sight.
So all in all I’ve a bit run out of ideas by now.
