Overclocking the i855.
The Intel 855 does not support 133Mhz, but the PLL chip it uses does.
Simply because a chipset does not support a speed does not mean the chipset can not run at that speed.
If you replace the PLL chip with one that allows adjustment, you can run the 855 chipset at 133MHz, but run into problems with the overclocked bus, and lose audio. This is not a problem for those that use PCMCIA card or USB audio cards.
But the chip and motherboard have settings for 133MHz FSB.
i855 PLL chip ICS 950810 Pins 54 and 55 determine CPU FSB speed.
Currently set at 54 = is High, and 55 = Low (ground), which equals 100MHz.
If it is set at 54 = High and 55 = High, then it would be set at 133MHz CPU.
So, if we lifted IC leg 55 off ground, then jumpered it to pin leg 54..............
I have tried modding the PLL chip, but after breaking a leg off, gave up.
