Windows Update "zurücksetzen"?

Anscheinend hat sich Windows Update bei mir an irgendeinem Update "verschluckt" und funktioniert nicht mehr.

- Ich bekomme die bereits installierten Updates nicht unter Software angezeigt ("Auf diesem Computer sind keine Updates installiert"), obwohl unter Updateverlauf alle angezeigt werden

- Ich bekomme 4 vorhandene Updates zum Download bzw.zur Installation angezeigt. Egal welches ich auswähle, ich bekomme immer eine Fehlermeldung (Code 643 - Unbekannter Fehler).

Vermute es hängt mit dem Update auf den IE9 zusammen. Das hatte ich mal deinstalliert und seitdem lässt sich auch der IE9 nicht installieren. Weder über Windows Updates, noch manuell.

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit Windows Update zurückzusetzen, so dass nochmal komplett bei Null angefangen wird?

Wenn Du diese Anzeige nicht sehen willst, registriere Dich und/oder logge Dich ein.
mehr zurücksetzen wie das ist von windows update selber nicht, da dürfte dein problem auch nicht liegen

kannst mal das probieren http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976982
vielleicht hast du auch ein problem mitm windows installier (versuch mal eine dirtt msi von 7zip o.ä. zu installieren), dann http://beqiraj.net/post/Windows-Installer-deinstallieren-und-neu-installieren.aspx

ansonsten
unter %windir% sollten sich kbxxxxx und windowsupdate.log dateien finden lassen, hier mal reinschauen oder hier posten von fehlgeschlagenen updates.

Aktuell gecachte Updates (betrifft auch eventuell korrupt heruntergeladene) lassen sich löschen, indem du den Windows-Update-Dienst beendest und kurzfristig deaktivierst, und dann den Inhalt des Ordners C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution löscht. Anschließend den Update-Dienst wieder aktivieren und nach Updates suchen.

Ansonsten würde ich mich 0711 anschließen. Schau in dem Zug auch mal nach, ob das Client-Update von .net Framework 4 installiert wurde.

Habe jetzt das Verzeichnis C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution gelöscht und den WindowsInstaller gem. oben gepostetem Link deaktiviert und neu aktiviert. Leider alles ohne Erfolg.

Also:

- MSI eines Drittanbieters (habe 7zip genommen) geht
- Manuelles Installieren des NET Framework Updates (KB2633870) geht nicht - "Schwerwiegender Fehler"
 
Alles schon probiert. INklusive kompletter Neuinstallation des NET Framework.

Bin inzwischen audf das hier gestoßen:

Sie erhalten den Fehlercode "0x80073712" oder das Dialogfeld "Windows-Funktionen" ist leer, wenn Sie versuchen, Windows Updates oder Komponenten in Windows 7 oder in Windows Vista zu installieren.

Da ich auch keine Windows-Komponenten (de)aktivieren kann, passt das ganz gut. Allerdings hilft die Lösung auch nicht. :(

Und noch was:

- Installation von IE8 bringt eine Fehlermeldung "IE8 wird auf diesem Betriebssystem nicht unterstützt"
