[Guide] Zotac 3060ti non oc -> oc bios flash // Update: Ghetto-Mod

it can also be something incompatible with the new bios and the operating system or its settings, etc. is just a guess but it is definitely helpful now to get to the bottom of the cause and exclude things.

I would install the GPU possibly with the mod bios on another system simply test times and see if it also gets graphics errors. Otherwise, the card maybe not cope with the new clocks (which I also do not really believe, since it is probably 30mhz difference).

as a test to undervolt the card, I would also try, that does not harm the card.

Do the errors only show in windows? or even in the biosscreen/startup?
It shows artifact as soon as I see anything on the screen, including the MSI logo. I think I will try underclocking the card

I use MSI Pro B660M-A Wifi mobo with i7 12700 and 32GB 3200mhz RAM. It has iGPU in case I fry my zotac :((

really strange problem, did you also apply new thermal paste? i also do this and its worth. hope you get the card working as it should too

you will then get the errors too when you put the card in another pc, and i think undervolt didnt help with this because you get the errors really soon and not later in windows.. :(

I really dont know why it does not work for you.. but it seems your card dont want a new bios by any means (because your original bios working fine you said).

This is my 3060ti with original bios

I found a reddit thread with the exact same problem, and exact same original BIOS. There's defintely something changed with the new BIOS https://www.reddit.com/r/techsuppor...c_3060_ti_lhr_nonoc_version_flashing_bios_to/
when did you buy your rtx? i got my when the lhr versions are really new on the marked at december 2021. maybe you need another revision of the oc lhr bios or something, thats really a shame and frustrating. i think its my last zotac because of this. dont get me wrong, the card is cool but for an 750 dollar card that has no fan stop, thats really a shame ( a friend ordered this card for me and i didnt know that, but now its cool with the undervolt and oc bios with ghettomod). its also a shame that we cant modding bios on our own (thanks nvidia..).

the problem is, you get more RPMs and no fan stop with the shit stock bios, but you even can try to manipulate the fan curve in msi afterburner to conpensate it a bit (i get my card quieter with this with my stock cooler).

And undervolting would you also help much in your situation, even with the orig bios

I got it at the end of 2022, probably it comes with some hardware changes causing the artifact when flashing OC bios (It's not the GDDR6X version)

I found a Manli 3060Ti bios that doesn't cause artifacts. But it doesn't have fan stop either.

I bought my card when it was the cheapest 3060Ti I could find in my country. One week after the price was increased by about 25USD, so mine is not that bad of a deal I think.

3060Tis from other brands were at least 40USD more expensive, even for the bottom tier cards like Asus Dual or Msi Ventus 2x.

I hope you figure it out but yes, try another bios from another vendor can help, but its also risky to flash the card to a stone ;(.
i didnt even know that different versions of this card exists, gpuz says its gddr6 on both of our cards with hynix ram

I tried an Asus KO bios with similar version, and it completely broke video output. Fortunately I have an iGPU to restore back to original 3060Ti bios :(

makes me mad :(. sounds that we have different board/hardware, and the chance to get a bios from a (new) OC-LHR card doesnt seem good (but not unrealistic). I dont know but you can try to make a request on techpowerup and explain your problem/situation, or make a new thread there (maybe in the gpu z subforum? dont know if a "bios" subforum exists there) https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/

and ask, i really hope someone have a bios that work for you
