I have one 1GB PC2-4200 hynix stick free (in Berlin).

They sell the same Uniwill notebooks as Nexoc, at least they used to. But they sell it more expensive. I have no experience of buying from them, so I don't know if their quality is better than Nexoc. However, I doubt that anything from Uniwill sold for Bulmann's price is worth the money...

Have you tried to run a memory test like memtest86+ to check your onboard RAM? Linux is also good idea to play with.

12" is absolutely no problem for me. I was also afraid in the beginning. Even 10.6" 1280 x 768 is fine if the quality of display is good. The only potential problem is the keys size of some models, not the fonts size on your display.

For your office applications you don't need anything faster than ULV 1.1-1,2GHz. I use one, I know. Only a notebook with ULV processor will be light enough and have a very good battery life. It is difficult to predict though, if a notebook with single-core ULV processor will be compatible...
