    Scythe confirms AM4 Compatibility and announces AM4 Mounting Kits

    Japanese cooling expert Scythe confirms compatibility to the new socket AM4 and announces availability of AM4 mounting kits for it’s CPU cooler product range. There are more than a handful of CPU cooler models, which are already compatible to the new Ryzen™ CPUs. Other models, such as the Scythe Mugen 5, can be easily upgraded thanks to the new AM4 mounting kit.

    Many of the Scythe CPU Coolers are already compatible to the new socket AM4. Scythe confirms the compatibility of those models, that are using the original AMD™ retention module. The following models are ready to be used with Ryzen™ CPU:

    • Katana 4 (SCKTN-4000)
    • Katana 3 (SCKTN-3000A)
    • Kabuto 3 (SCKBT-3000)
    • Shuriken Rev. B (SCSK-1100)
    • Tatsumi “A” (SCTTM-1000A)

    Scythe EU GmbH offers the AM4 upgrade kit firstly for Mugen 5, which is based on the latest HPMS II mounting system. Validated means run it through server/workstation grade testing. For the first Ryzen processors, focused on the prosumer/gaming market, this feature is enabled and working but not validated by AMD. You should not have issues creating a whitebox homelab or NAS with ECC memory enabled.

Wenn Du diese Anzeige nicht sehen willst, registriere Dich und/oder logge Dich ein.
Was für mich immer noch nicht ganz klar ist. Passen jetzt die alten Kühler noch immer auf die neuen Mainboards oder nicht?
 
Die Abstände der Bohrungen am Sockel und das AMD Retention Modul haben sich geändert, also im schlimmsten Fall neuer Kühler oder neues Retention Modul für den Kühler wie es u.a. Noctua anbieten wird.

Sollten sie die Haken des neuen Retention Modules noch immer an der gleichen Position befinden, könnten allerdings Kühler, die ohne eigenes Retention Modul auskommen, nach wie vor passen (Clip-Befestigung).

Ich meine iwo mal gelesen zu haben das sich nur die Bohrungen des Rentation Moduls ändern, nicht aber die Clipabstände.

Wenn ichs nur mal wieder finden würde... :shake:

Ich hoffe es geht bald mit den "richtigen" Boards los. Mein jetziges hat schon 5 Jahre auf dem Buckel und möchte ersetzt werden :)

Die X werden hoffentlich vor dem 24.12 verfügbar sein, wenn nicht muss ein µATX Board für den ZEN herhalten Anfang 2017.

Hauptsache 4K laufen mit 60FPS (HDMI 1.4+), wobei selbst 30FPS nicht ruckeln wenn sie nur auf der CPU berechnet werde*: http://abload.de/img/wadabum_4k_amdt3yq6.jpg

Bin auch gespannt was da so kommt.
Vom Asus sieht man ja wenig und beim Gigabyte dürften die spawas ohne Kühlkörper wohl Punkte OC für die Tonne sein.
Aber beim Gigabyte dürft das Mobo wohl auch mit Kühlkörper kommen, denn Löcher erkennt man auf der Platine

@commander1984: Ich kenne drei unterschiedliche Aussagen/Updates von AMD zu der zurückgezogenen Thermalright Mitteilung und habe diese auf Grund der Widersprüchlichkeit absichtlich nicht mit verlinkt.

Das die Vorabtester einen Wraith Kühler verwendet haben, könnte allerdings ein Hinweis darauf sein, dass auch wenn sich die Sockelbohrungen geändert haben wenigstens das original AM4 Retention Modul abwärtskompatibel ist. Für deinen Wakühler gibt es dann ja vielleicht auch ein AM4 Kit ;)

Der AMD A6-9500 ist sicher nicht das interessanteste Modell, aber immerhin ein Anfang.

Immerhin wird bei Geizhals schon mal die Option AM4 Prozessoren angeboten. Auch wird schon mal der A6 9500, nicht lieferbar und sehr teuer, angeboten als tray.
Es könnte also in 2-3 Wochen die ersten kaufbaren Angebote geben.

Hatte ich letzte Woche schon hier gepostet, siehe Beitrag #16.

Die AMD Desktop Consumer Webseite ( Processors for Desktops – 7th Generation AMD A-Series APUs | AMD ) ist zwar auch schon für die 7th Gen Produkte vorbereitet, aber noch nicht komplett umgestellt, obwohl die Produktseiten der einzelnen Prozessoren schon online sind (bis auf die des Athlon X4 950, Links im ersten Beitrag).
 
Der X4 950 sieht - ohne Kenntnisse über die PCIe Lanes und den Shadercache - für mich aus wie nen Athlon X4 845 auf AM4...
 
Hab leider noch so gut wie nichts zu AM4 bretten gefunden. Bis auf die bilder der HP Mainboards quasi garnix :(
