[Sammelthread] Arma 3

Das hängt eigentlich nur davon ab ob sie die DayZ Engine danach für ArmA 4 weiterverwenden - oder nicht.

Ich denke das werden sie aber tun. so könnte man _quasi_ sagen dass die zukünftige ArmA 4 Engine bereits entwickelt wird. Das so zu kommunizieren wäre aber eher hinderlich für weitere ArmA 3 sales - von daher macht das alles schon Sinn so wie es ist ^^

jain. war zuerst arma 2. dann 2.5 und jetzt hab ich das so verstanden dass sie Ressourcen dahingefoundet haben damit die engine mal einen rewrite bekommt - in sachen multithreading.. und diese Teile könnte man dann doch für arma 4 nutzen. Wenn arma 4 eh nichts mehr mit arma 3 zu tun haben soll, dann könnten sie auch bei dayZ_New starten, oder die erarbeitete Knowledge dafür nutzen. Werden wohl eh die gleichen Devs sein, bzw. mit denen reden. An Gehirnwäsche glaube ich nicht.

Offizielles ist eher reserviert. ArmA 4 noch not in the making, und eher updates kein rewrite.. aber irgendwie hoffe ich dass es mal einen richtigen arma 4 rewrite gibt..

Auf guten Servern hat man doch aber fast gar keine FPS Probleme mehr. Also EUTW geht bei mir auf einem mid range PC mit Ultra Settings "gefühlt" flüssig.

Klar, es ist ärgerlich wenn man sich vorstellt welche abgefahrenen Szenarien man entwickeln könnte... (Basenbau, KI Soldaten für jeden Spieler, PIP Offiziere die strategische Planung machen, 2+ Fraktionen, Territorialer Riesenkrieg über die ganze map.. ahhh)

Enfusion is NOT an evolution of the RV engine, ALL the parts of the new, modular Enfusion engine are being written from scratch, with the intention to serve as a tech basis for ANY kind of game, therefore not serving only a specific purpose. DayZ is implementing the modules one by one as they become available, while working with some legacy modules from RV (which is why DayZ is subjectively taking such a long time to be developed, because it solves complex technical/compatibility issues).

The one thing that you stated correctly is the fact that (with the exception of DayZ) we will use the Enfusion engine for our future projects.

diese neue Enfusion Engine entsteht stückchenweise aus der RV/Enforce Engine und wird zukünftig für weitere Bohmeia Titel verwendet werden. Zunächst schrittweise für Dayz, dann eine neue IP, und dann [?] <- vl. arma 4 (das ist nur von mir geraten).

Die RV (Real Virtue) Engine ist die "alte" von Bohemia originär selbst und stetig weiterentwickelte Engine.


Combining the things that RV/Enforce do well is pretty much the goal our engine team set for Enfusion development (if I oversimplify it), yes. But Enfusion is not an evolution of any single engine :)

ansonsten finde ich die neuen Farbsettings irgendwie nicht mehr so gut wie die alten. anstrengend zu bunt, und es lässt sich mit den neuen bright/contr/sat reglern nicht mehr so hinbiegen dass es wie vorher aussieht. aus screenshots mags okay aussehen aber wenn man spielt passt es irgendwie nicht richtig und wirkt künstlich.

Ich glaub nicht, dass das Problem mit den Mid-Range-Texturen jemals in Arma 3 behoben werden wird.
Zu den neuen Farben: Mir gefallen sie besser als die alten. Das sah vorher alles nur so trist gelb-braun aus. Jetzt ists ein bisschen bunter. Aber über Geschmack lässt sich (nicht) streiten. :)
Ein Problem ist auf jeden Fall, dass alle Maps, außer Altis und Stratis, etwas komisch aussehen, weil die Farben nicht mehr passen.
 
 
Mir gefällt die neue Farbgebung ebenfalls nicht, sah vorher viel besser aus. Nur das Wasser ist jetzt natürlich viel hübscher, aber sonst ist es eher meh.
Werde noch weiter mit den neuen Einstellungen rumspielen um das besser hinzubekommen.

Durch das Update ist Taunus vorerst auf Eis.

Vehicles:




The KH-3A Fenghuang is an unmanned aerial drone based on a Chinese design. The UAV adopts the unusual canard layout and is propelled by a pusher engine. This multipurpose drone is equipped with modern tracking and tracing systems, countermeasures and also carries four air-to-ground laser guided missiles.


Personal watercraft (PWC) of the sit-down type. This small-hulled craft driven by a jet-propulsion system offers seats for 3 people and is easy to mount or dismount on the water thanks to the open stern construction. The powerful engine and great maneuverability makes this craft truly fun to ride. And of course it is a small and useful water transport vehicle for military use as well.

This autonomous/remotely controlled helicopter drone is mainly used as close air support and thanks to the unmanned construction can be deployed in the most dangerous zones. The Falcon is equipped with a laser designator and can therefore handle surveillance, reconnaissance and target designation tasks. Its greatest strength, however, lies in armament. It carries two rocket pods, each with 12 unguided rockets and six Scalpel air-to-ground missiles. The MQ-12 Falcon can also use countermeasures for self-defense.

Developed as a 21st century replacement for aging C-130 based gunships and transport aircraft. Its third-generation tilt-rotor VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) technology allows this long endurance aircraft to conveniently utilize a wide range of airfields and runways which greatly improves the military logistics. It also provides unparalleled maneuverability in its heavily armed gunship variant which has the unique ability to perform either pylon turns or merely hover in place during the ground attack. The huge internal storage allows for transportation of vehicles up to the size and weight of the AMV-7 Marshall APC in the vehicle transport variant or up to 32 fully armed soldiers with supplies in the infantry transport variant. The storage space of the gunship variant is fully occupied by automated weapon stations and carried ammunition.


By far the largest CSAT joint development project to date was long troubled by the conflicting requirements of the participating armies who demanded an aircraft with VTOL capabilities. The planned budget was vastly exceeded several times and development was years behind schedule. The program eventually became one of the most expensive in military procurement history and despite a great deal of information remains classified and is often compared to the older F-35 program. The final solution was based upon the most promising prototype designed in Xi'an which was able to meet most of the requirements with satisfactory results. High running and maintenance costs remains a huge issue that plagues the reputation of the otherwise extremely progressive aircraft with many unique features and top-notch bleeding-edge technologies.

The MB 4WD is a modern four-wheel drive off-road vehicle with a distinctive construction, which could be tracked up to World War II. The vehicle was produced in the US and exists in a number of different editions. Thanks to the powerful engine, durable chassis and great maneuverability, this vehicle can handle all levels of difficult terrains from dry deserts to humid jungles or artic wastelands.

An agile (maximum speed 160 km/h) light protected vehicle for 5-6 soldiers – depending on the configuration. The Qilin offers safe and fast operating speeds with superior levels of mobility and maneuverability. It is highly adaptable to severe, rugged and restrictive terrains while providing off-road, cross-country mobility under all types of weather conditions. The vehicle was produced in China with Russian cooperation, so some minor influence from Ifrit MRAP can be seen in Qilin’s design. The Qilin is a highly customizable platform which can be fitted according to the mission. CSAT Pacific forces primarily use the unarmed variant and the armed variant fitted with a 6.5 mm minigun.


Caesar BTT is a single-engine, fixed-gear, low-wing general aviation aircraft built from composite materials. The Caesar BTT is one of the fastest fixed-gear, single-engined piston aircraft, reaching a speed of 235 knots (435 km/h) true air speed at 25,000 feet (7,600 m). It is used by civilians and smaller shipping companies all around the world.


The Prowler is a light strike vehicle (LSV) which means it is agile and lightly armored. It uses speed, maneuverability and off-road mobility to avoid major threats. Another benefit is that the Prowler is light enough to be transported by medium helicopters such as UH-80 Ghost Hawk. This is in contrast to the heavy MRAP vehicles which are harder to transport to the battlefield. Two configurations of Prowler exist. The armed variant of Prowler is equipped with two machine guns. The front seated position carries a .338 SPMG medium machine gun. The top turret is equipped with a .50 cal heavy machine gun. With this arsenal, Prowler is ideal for quick hit and run missions. The unarmed variant is stripped of all guns, but the back part of the vehicle is open and there are reserve seats for two additional soldiers.

The rigid-hulled inflatable boat, (RHIB) is a light-weight but high-performance and high-capacity boat constructed with a solid, shaped hull and flexible tubes at the gunwale. The boat can fit 7 passengers and a driver. RHIB can be used for multiple tasks. It can be a simple transport boat with some countries deploying them for coast guarding. This is in contrast to criminals on Tanoa who uses RHIBs as a fast and small smuggling boat.

The PM is a Russian semi-automatic pistol. It became the Soviet Union's standard military and police side arm in 1951 and has been broadly used ever since in post-Soviet countries and places where black market reached from those countries. It is based on the German wartime design utilizing the 9x18 mm cartridge designed by B.V. Semin in 1946. For simplicity and economy, the PM was of straight blowback operation, with the 9x18 mm cartridge being the most powerful cartridge it could safely and practically fire. German wartime forces had rejected this pistol design some years before because of its poor accuracy. Although the nominal calibre was 9.0 mm, the actual bullet was 9.22 mm in diameter, since caliber in Russia is measured between the grooves and not the lands of the rifling. Being shorter and wider, the 9 mm cartridge is thus incompatible with pistols chambered for 9x19 mm cartridges and vice-versa.

The SPAR-17 designated marksman rifle is in many ways similar to the SPAR-16. The main difference is the chambering to 7.62 mm which also means a longer, thicker barrel and more weight. Thanks to the more powerful ammunition, the SPAR-17 is most suitable for ranges from 600 to 800 meters. The rifle offers a single and full auto mode and is, like the SPAR-16, compatible with a large number of accessories.


The SPAR-16 is a standard issue assault rifle of CTRG units in Pacific, chambered for 5.56 mm ammunition. The gun is a reliable rifle compatible with a large number of accessories. Multiple variants of this rifle exist, each suitable for a different role. The SPAR-16 GL is equipped with an underslung grenade launcher, the SPAR-16S with its thicker barrel and drum magazine works as a light support weapon.

A bullpup style assault rifle used by CSAT Pacific forces. It works as a common platform for different weapon types: a standard rifle, GL variant with attached grenade launcher and a light support version with a longer barrel and drum magazine. The CAR-95 uses polymer materials in its construction and fires 5.8x42 mm small-caliber, high-velocity bullets.

The AKS-74U was created as an answer for the Soviet need for a fully automatic carbine. The gun is basically a shortened AK-74, which enabled significant production savings. Like the AK-74, this variant is also chambered in 5.45x39 mm, but its compact dimensions make it intended for special forces, vehicle crews, police patrols, etc. However, the lower muzzle velocity makes the AKS-74U effective up to only around 400 meters..

The AKM gas operated assault rifle with a rotating bolt is a modernized version of the old AK-47. Despite the later introduction of the AK-74, it has remained in use in many countries all over the world with more than 10 million units built. Its improvements over the AK-47 made mass manufacturing simpler, but also decreased the weight and increased accuracy of the weapon. At the same time, the gun's exceptional wear and corrosion resistance has been preserved.


The AK-12 is a modern assault rifle designed to replace the legendary AK-74 as general issue for the Russian Army. The weapon introduces many improvements over its predecessors: better recoil control, versions suitable for various ammunition, compatibility with several underslung grenade launchers, accessory rails, or better ergonomics. This particular version is chambered in 7.62x39 mm, and thus suited for longer-distance engagements.

The Type 115 is a modern multi weapon. It consists of two separate weapons combined into a single unit: a lower semi auto rifle chambered to fire .50 rounds and an upper automatic/semi auto rifle chambered in 6.5 mm. The gun can be modified by attachments to fulfill various roles in battle. Its versatility turns every soldier into a universal threat against both infantry and armored targets.

Designated marksman rifle of an Eastern origin. It is a gas operated, semiautomatic rifle of a bullpup construction. The housing is made from polymer. The rifle is chambered in 6.5 mm and therefore is most suited to ranges from 500 to 700 meters. The CMR-76 is missing both the sides and the bottom rails but is by default equipped with a bipod.

The RPG-7 is a portable, reusable, unguided, shoulder-launched, anti-tank, rocket-propelled grenade launcher. The ruggedness, simplicity, low cost and effectiveness of the RPG-7 has made it the most widely used anti-armor weapon in the world. Currently, around 40 countries use the weapon and it is manufactured in several variants by nine countries. It is popular with irregular and guerrilla forces. The RPG has been used in almost all conflicts across all continents since the mid-1960s, from the Vietnam War to the early recent conflicts in the Pacific area.


The light infantry machine gun 85 is an iteration of a special purpose weapon. Combining a high fire-rate and relatively easy maintenance with high reliability, it was adopted by several armies around the world. It features standard accessory rails and 200-round box 5.56x45 mm magazines. Its weight is 7.1 kilograms which is less than its predecessors.

A lightweight, air-cooled, selective fire, delayed blowback operated submachine gun with a roller-delayed bolt. The compact size, accuracy and high rate of fire of the Protector are highly regarded and the gun is used in many variants by numerous military, law enforcement, intelligence and security organizations all around the world.

The native people have turned many parts of the wild jungle into fertile fields and plantations.
Around the Tanoa archipelago, the native people worship a god of fertility and festivity called Darkon.
The name of the archipelago comes from the Fijian word tanoa which means a bowl (the main island resembles a large bowl).
Once upon a time, there was a living, fire-breathing volcano...

Würde es mir scho mal gern wieder anschauen aber ich zahl nich mehr für n DLC als ich fürs game gezahlt habe oO ..
 
Das DLC ist es aber sowas von Wert. Ich persönlich gebe Bohemia gerne die 25€. Was die leisten im Vergleich zu Ubisoft, EA etc. an Community Support und Langzeitunterstützung ist der Hammer.
 

Die Soundübergänge an den Häusern sind aber teilweise noch etwas zu abrupt. Geräusche wandern in der Realität oft weiter als mehrere cm ;) sonst könnten Menschen nicht miteinander reden ^^ - wahrscheinlich ist das ein Skript was den einen Sound durch den anderen ersetzt. realistisch wäre jedoch ein langsames Crossfading zwischen beiden Sounds. Ich hoffe das trägt jemand in den Tracker ein.

der jungel ist sehr gut gemacht - hmmm mit regen und so WOW!

mit Vietnam Mod meine ich nicht nur das Equipment, nett wären richtig tolle Missionen (SP/MP) und auch ein Gefühl fürs Setting. Tanoa würde sich da mal gut eignen im Gegensatz zu bisherigen Bohemia Maps..

Aber gut zu wissen dass es ein paar Vietnam Heads gibt XD

werde mir unsung mal in Ruhe zu Gemüte führen!

Diese plötzlichen Soundwechsel zwischen gedämpften innen und außen gibt es meines Wissens nach schon immer. Am lustigsten ist das in manchen kaputten Häusern. Ein Schritt nach rechts: Alles dumpf. Wieder zurück: Alles laut und klar. :d

Naja selbst mit einem übertakteten 6700k laggen die Städte auf Tanoa wie sau .. (<60FPS).
Neu ist die Map, ein paar Gebäude, ein paar Autos, ein paar Waffen. Und neues Wasser ... toll.

Nichts was Modder nicht schon seit arma2 (teilweise sogar besser & kostenlos) geschafft haben.
Vielleicht kauf ichs mir mal für 5€, wenns ne gute RP Life Mod dafür gibt.

Und ja - 4/5 der neuen Gebäude sind nicht begehbar. "Arma Charm".

Im vergleich zu einem Standalone Namens "Operation Arrowhead" stimmt ich dir völlig zu, man muss auch mal bedenken wieviel content Arma 2 einfach von sich aus hatte im Gegensatz zu Arma 3 was ja eher so ein "trübsames ächzen" Seitens Bohemia war, zwar sieht auch in DayZ SA ihr Logo, aber ihr wisst ja alle wie es da vorangeht.

Musste kucken. Der Serverbrowser ist ja mittlerweile ganz gut benutzbar. Aber ich glaube das dauert noch ein bisschen, bis die Missionen von den Entwicklern an Tanoa angepasst wurden.

Also RHS zum Beispiel ist ein genialer Mod, aber gerade in Sachen Sound können die nicht mit Vanilla Waffen mithalten. Und was andere Entwickler für auch noch schlechte DLCs verlangen ... Da ist Apex für mich voll in Ordnung. Wobei wie schon gesagt: Mir geht es gar nicht nur um den Inhalt von Apex. Ein Spiel über Jahre immer weiter zu entwickeln (ok, zum Teil auch mit lange überfälligen Funktionen zu versorgen aka Waffe wechseln im Laufen :d ) und die Modder zu unterstützen. Das alleine sind mir die 25€ wert. Aber jeder wie er will. Ich bin bekennender Bohemia Fanboy auch wenn bei denen lang nicht alles Gold ist, was glänzt. ;)

habe gestern ein kleines Dschungel Match erstellt - das wird was im Multiplayer ^^ man sieht ja fast gar nichts.

Das letzte Video zeigt ja ganz gut das die KI nicht mehr durch Vegetation durch schauen kann.
Was aber auch unbedingt mal gefixt werden müsste sind die Hitboxen der Büsche. Dass man sich mitten in einen Busch hocken kann und dann manchmal gegen Beschuss imun ist, weil die Kugeln irgendwie im Busch hängen bleiben, ist besonders im MP bescheuert.
 
Das lustige an der KI bisher war ja das Pathfinding ... wenn die gegen ne Wand gelaufen sind, konnten die da ab nem bestimmten Punkt durchkucken und schießen. Da wurde man dann auf einmal beschossen und sah nur wie ne Waffe aus ner Wand raus kam ... im MP auch sehr beliebt.
