It is especially interesting that ASRock completely put to use chipset overclocking possibilties - modifing multiplyer of processor , adjusting FSB, cpu core voltage, limited possiblities of adjustng ram timing and by adding their own new technologies U-COP, Hybrid Booster and Boot Failure Guard Asrock made really unusual overclocking combo in the world of Mini ATX format. U-COP is short of Universal Cpu Overheating Protection, technology that protects processor from overheating what has become very important, because user can never know when cpu cooler might go off or for example when cpu is overclocked too much. Ofcourse, when cpu reaches critical temperature U-COP will automatically shutdown the system.
Boot Failure Guard will automatically activate «safe boot» if we overreact with overcloking settings what might cause that system can't boot at all, what will overclockers especially appriciate like something that will save them time and headache.
Hybrid Booster is the most interesting technology for every overclocker, point is that by changing FSB frequency AGP and PCI clock aren't affected and will stay unchanged. That will largely affect system stability and maximal overclocking possibilities. So, there will be no more problems with graphic cards or some other devices with high frequences of FSB. Beside that Hybrid Booster supports «stepless» adjusting of FSB frequency directly from bios in steps of 1 MHz, from 50-248 MHz maximum.
It is also interesting to mention that we tried an older NDS-Nanya ram modul (256 MB, DDR 266) with this board. This modul worked up to maximal 147 Mhz (with boosted voltage to 2,7V) with ECS K7S5A motherboard. Now, memory worked very stable at new 153 MHz, 2-3-3-7 timing settings, what was impossible with K7S5A . Congratulations for stability ASRock!
