Hi all,

Sorry but my German is poor so i will communicate in English please reply in English as well if you don't mind.

So i will tear down my rig probably next week and will be using new tubing.

I want to ask you people who used EK ZMT or Norprene for at least a year or longer.
Did you found any stains or gunk inside your blocks when inspecting/opening them after LONG time usage?
Some people say the rubber might degrade over time and thus release particles that may gunk up your blocks (not sure if this is true).

I noticed that EK ZMT has this "sparkling dust" on the outside as well as in the inside its like dust obviously one must flush its tubing before use.
While Norprene 1606 is smooth in the inside no dust that i can see...

I have both EK ZMT and Norprene 1606.

So if you guys can give me your feedback it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Using ZMT for years and never had leftovers in my coolant or the reservoir. But I must admit that I never opend any waterblock, will do that on the weekend maybe.

I have cleaned my CPU block this week after 2 years in use. There were almost no particles. I use 13/10 Norprene tubing and demineralised water. Flushing the tubes before use seems to be a good idea - I think the few particles I found were there since the assembly of the loop. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the block before cleaning.

Thanks for the reply,

Whenever you open your cpu block please share your findings here it would be very much appreciated. Since you have used ZMT for years you can actually confirm if its a great tubing.

Great! So no black stains, coming from some one who used Norprene for 2 years. Might i ask you which Norprene you used can you tell me the exact name for example i have a batch of Norprene 1606 what do you use?

I looked in my order history - it is R6012.

Be aware that the 13/10 tube is very flexible and does not allow sharp bendings.

Thanks for the reply,

Uff hard choice either zmt or norprene I always use 19mm tubing (1/2 - 3/4).

I took norprene in 19mm, Is strong and I think it's good ;)
Sorry for my englisch :fresse2:

Long story short: both tubes are very good. pick whatever you think looks better and flush it thoroughly with distilled water before use.

It took me one more week to take my cooler apart (sorry), but despite the great and not changing temps the cooler was a bit "gunked":

old EK clear fluid, ZMT tubing, rads: Mora, EK SE360 later a HWLabs 360 GTS (never flushed them before).

I‘m using Norprene for 2-3years. No problems till now. Earlier i had problems with PVC tubes. Since i changed the tubes, its a nobrainer.

i'm using norprene tubes for years now. never had any issues.

I have been using Norprene for ~3 years now in 3 Systems, none showed any sign of gunking up, dissassembled 1 system after 2 years, no gunk. I only use Aquacomputer DP ultra fluid in green and blue. As mentioned earlier keep in mind that sharp bends are not the best option with Norprene.

Thanks for the reply,

The gunk you talked about may be from the radiator since you did not flushed it before use same can be said about the tubing best to flush your tubing as well before usage. But other then that your cpu block looks good (no oxidation). It's vital one flushes radiators before using them and even then it can still release particles over time. That's why I now use Aquacomputer AMS rads no Flux no solder.

Thank you for providing the picture much appreciated.

Thx for the reply,

I do like the norprene better then zmt. However when I used Koolance 1/2 barbs + Koolance 1/2 clamps on norprene it starts to slowly leak (only tested on D5 top/res combo) tested with air pressure "Aquacomputer Dr.Drop". Norprene wall is thinner then zmt even though they both say 19mm when I use zmt no more pressure drop at all. I also have bitspower 1/2 barbs with Koolance clamps will test today.

Great feedback from all of you guys thanks so much.

Do you want an industrial clean water system without any slime in your cpu cooler. Yes ? Okay I recommand tygoon norprene. If you don't like the print on the tube you can wash it with soft sponge and warm water carefully . The print is going away

Thx for the reply,

I actually like the white print on the tubing :d

Just need to wait to get my Aquacomputer AMS 480 rad before i can assemble my rig.
