[Sammelthread] ASUS F3jp

hallo,

ich hatte vor mir vielleicht das F3jp zu kaufen.

nun ist meine Frage ob hier jemand im Forum mit diesem Gerät Erfahrungen gesammelt hat?

besonders Lautstärke, 3D Performance und Akku würden mich interessieren.

Hat das Notebook da ein eigenes, ordentlich gepolstertes Fach ? Irgendwie sieht es auf dem Bild so aus, als würde das Book zusammen mit dem anderen Kram wie Ordner oder Flasche ins Hauptfach kommen.

Jop ich habe noch nie so eine gute Aufteilung gehabt wie bei dieser Tasche. Das NB-Fach is das große Hintere es ist echt super gepoltstert und natürlich baulich getrennt von den anderen Fächern. Zudem passt auch noch ein dicker A4 Ordner in der andere Fach wenn das NB drin ist. Ich habe es immer mit zur Schule....NB, Ordner, mind. 2 Bücher, Brotdose, 1L Flasche usw. es passt auf jeden ´Fall alles rein und das NB ist auf jeden Fall save da drin..^^

So habs endlich geschafft. Auf meiner C Partition läuft nun Windows XP Proffesional und auf der D Partition Windows Vista 64 ultimate.

Lade nun gerade die Treiber von der Asus Homepage aber das kann noch dauern. Ist echt ne unverschämtheit was die da für Server anbieten!

Klingt sehr gut, danke. Ich habe mir zwischenzeitlich den Dicota Mission angesehen und da passt das Book selbst zwar rein, aber dafür geht sonst fast nichts mehr

Kann mir mal jemand sagen, welche Festplatte genau verbaut ist? Finde nur 160Gb Sata 5400rpm.

Gibts da unterschiede zwischen dem 17er und dem 29er?

Edit: ist wohl die Hitachi 5k160. Hat sich also erledigt

Neu Bios für F3JP

hab ds prog nicht und sensible dateien speicher ich einfach auf mehreren PCs.

Grafikfehlersin leicht zu erkennen: mein Notebook kann keine Fläche in 1 Farbe darstellen. Eine weisse Fläche beinhaltet immer viele Pixel die etwas "weisser" und einige die "weniger" weiss sind. das gilt natürlich für alle Farben, aber eine Fläche ist immer körnig...

EDIT: mit dem Bios 203 ist das Problem endlich gelöst. Dabei ist anzumerken dass das ASUS Winflash tool auf der cd nur die neue Biosfile checkt, ob sie gültig ist. Danach tut das Prog das Notebook nur rebooten, aber flashen tut es rein gar nicht.
Dazu: File checken, beim reboot auf F2 hämmern, im BIOS dann Start Flash utility wählen, das Laufwerk auswählen wo die File steht, bei mir z.b D: und die file wählen...klappt wunderbar
ich hab die Biosfile im ZIPformat angehängt. Ihr müsst die Endung .doc allerdings löschen, ich musste die datei in .doc umbenennen weil man sonst nichts anhängen kann da die ZIPdatei grösser als die 100kb sind die man anhängen kann....

Here I provide you with a new bios for F3JP witch also solves the display problem.
This bios version v205.t1 is coming directly from ASUS Germany.
I thought I share it with you people here.

I am using the same trick as Phreeze_lu, to upload the file here.
Since zipped files can be maximum of 100kB where as documents can be upto 500kb, I have renamed the file as F3JP205.rar.doc. It is actually a zipped file in .rar format.
Just remove the .doc extension and than use winrar to unzip it.

Ich habe mir das NHC installiert und der Lüfter war zwar leise, aber nach 5 Minuten Anno spielen, ist das System runter gefahren weil die cpu temperatur bei 95 Grad war. Kann auch irgendwas nicht stimmen oder?

@BoBbY: Dann hast du irgend was falsch gemacht bei der installation von NHC also bei mir geht die Temp. bei ANNO 1701 so ca. auf 75Grad hoch. Ich denke das siese Temp. auch normal ist. Aber bei dir kan was net stimmen.....

This no joke.
I am not here to distroy somebodies notebook. I just wanted to help you people who are facing the display problem with F3jp.

This version of bios is real. It is coming from ASUS support in Germany and not from ASUS official website.
ASUS support has emailed this version to me.

You would not find it on the ASUS Germany website, since ASUS guys take too much time to make the information available there.

This display problem is due to problem with ATI x1700 bios. ASUS Taiwan know about this problem and they are working on a solution.

Even ASUS support in Germany was not willing to help concerning this display problem.
I have been in contact with ASUS support for the last four weeks!!!!!!
It took 10 emails to convince them that this is real a probelm and Taiwan Headquaarter is already working on it.

For your information there is also v206 for F3jp available from ASUS support, but only v205 that I have provided in the above post solves the display problem.

ASUS support told me they are working on display problem and they will upload bios to the official site only when they have the final version of it.

They told me that all the information on the ASUS official page is much older. For the newest information they have given me the link to: www.asustreiber.de

This is a website which is run by ASUS support in Germany.
Soon you will be able to download this bios v205 from www.asustreiber.de. The administartor (who works for ASUS Germany) has promised me to upload it on the server there as soon as he finds some free time.

I don't care if you think this all a joke. I just wanted to forward the information here as I have done on many other forums that discuss the problem.
This is the only place where I got such annoying answers from people.
I will never share the information with the people here again!!!!!!

You can ask ASUS Germany directly. I think now they know about it, only one email ( tsd_germany@asus.com ) would be necessary to get this bios directly from them.

@ bobby: meins wird auch >80grad. schalt NHC aus, und lass das Asustool laufen @ "superperformance" das asustool lässt den Lüfter schneller drehen

habe soeben die biosversion v205 von turbogear eingespielt und die Grafikfehler ('körnige" Flächen) sind verschwunden.

habe ebend einen übelsten Bluescreen gehat.... wo irgend etwas mit Kernel Fehler stand... hattet ihr auch schon einmal einen Bluscreen oder absturtz mit diesem NB??? Weis einer was das sein könnte?

Your bios v203 indeed also solves the problem, but it is still a beta version.
Many other people are also using the version v203 as you, but some people has seen some bluescreens with that version.
ASUS is still working on the solution of the problem, so every time they release a new version it is better for us.

This is actually a problem from ATI and not from ASUS.
In the ASUS notebooks not only F3jp faces this problem but all the models that have either x1600 or x1700 cards.
If you check on the internet you will see that many other notebook brands having x1600 and x1700 cards have the same problem as ASUS notebooks.

Actually your bios version v203 is also coming originally from this website. Beta v203 is coming from ASUS USA, and it was made available to public by the ASUS dealer GenTech PC in USA.

On the ASUS notebooks and I think on many others as well the Graphic card bios is upgraded only through upgrading the main system bios. It is a part of the system bios file. That is why this v203 and v205 solve this problem. They are both having a new bios for ATI card.

@pt666: Hattest du bisher irgendwelche merkwürdigen Probleme mit dem neuen BIOS?

Ich bin ja normalerweise sehr offen für veränderungen, was meinen PC betrifft. Allerdings bin ich beim BIOS immer ein bisschen vorsichtig, wenn die BIOS version nicht offiziell gemaped ist!
Ich würde es ja gerne probieren umzustellen, aber ich hab keine Lust, dass danach garnichts mehr funktioniert!!!

Ich würde die jenigen, die diese BIOS Beta 205 draufgespielt haben, bitten dass sie ein Feedback hier reinschreiben! Wie stabil? Altes Problem gelöst? Neue Probleme aufgetaucht? , usw....

nein, habe keinerlei probleme mit dem neuen bios.
ausserdem könnte man ja die alte biosversion wieder einspielen (über den menüpunkt 'start easy flash' direkt im bios)

This website is run by ASUS support team in Germany.

The latest ATI 7.1 mobile Catalyst control center is not officially supporting the x1700 card but you can still install it if you read the instructions here:

I have been testing the bios for 5 days now. So far I have not seen any problem with it.

In order to flash your F3jp notebook with this bios do following:

1- Put the bios file F3JP205.t1 directly under root directory C.
2- Restart your computer.
3- At the startup press F4, this should start the flash utility directly.
No need to go to bios by pressing F2. You can start the utility directly by F4.
5- Under the flash utility navigate to root directory C.
6- Select the file F3JP205.t1.
7- Then just select to flash it.
8- After a successful flash the computer will shut down.
9- Restart the computer.
10- Press F2 to go to the bios.
11- Load the manufacturer default setting.
12- Save the settings and exit.

It is important that you restore the default manufacturer setting after flash otherwise sometime the Windows XP can crash after you restart your PC for first time.
Windows may say that it has found new hardware. Usually it will install the drivers automatically, if not than provide it with your driver CD.

Ich hatte auch keine Problem beim ersten Start. Musst keine Treiber oder sonstiges neuinstallieren!

Heute ist einfach ein genialer Tag:

1stens der Grainy effekt ist dank "turbogear's" Hilfe endlich weg!
2tens Hab es endlich geschafft meine Grafikkarte bei SuseLinux10 zu intallieren und die graka funktioniert einwandfrei auch opengl!
Einfach super!

Das einzige was ich unter SuSE noch nicht hinbekommen hab, ist mit meiner integrierten WLAN-Karte mich in meinem WLAN-Netz anzumelden!

Hmmmm ich glaube ich warte trotzdem noch bis zum offizielen release. 1400 Euro sind mir dann doch zu viel geld um im bios herum zu spielen.

Habe noch mal ein anderes Anliegen. Habe mal mein Handy via BT mit dem Book verbunden. Hat super geklappt. Nur leider springt seit dem immer das Modem Fenster auf, das er mich mit O2 verbinden will. Weiß einer wie ich das weg bekomme?

Dann habe ich noch ne Frage. Das Book hat ja nen S/PDIF Ausgang. Ist dieser Digital? Sprich wenn ich mir ein Optisches Kabel hole und mit meiner Anlage verbuinde kann ich echtes Dolby Digital genießen?

Gibt es direkt auf der englischen Homepage von ICQ! Der Treiber ist ein open source treiber und 55mb gross!

ja das ist kein problem, du kannst das allerneueste immer drüber installieren.

aber nach dem update, lade die "default settings" und modifizier dann erst wieder die einstellungen.
