Betreibt jemand von euch schon 4TB, 5TB oder 6TB Festplatten an dem Controller? Wenn ja welche genau?

Ich betreibe seit über einem Jahr 4 x 4TB Seagate Desktop HDD.15 4TB (ST4000DM000) im Raid 5 da dran. Controller ist der M5015 mit 512MB und eben der BBU. SBR ist die LSI und Firmware ROM ist die von Sun (0048_sun.rom) mit der Spindown Funktion damit sich die Platten schlafen legen können.
Läuft einwandfrei.
 
Leute, ihr müsst mir bitte mal helfen. Ich habe hier den IBM M5014 am Laufen mit der IBM_12.12.0-0047 Firmware (will den HD Spindown haben). Mich nervt aber die lange Bootzeit mit dem Controller ein bisschen. Jetzt bin ich mehrfach (hier und woanders) auf das nachfolgende Kommando gestoßen, bin aber offensichtlich zu unfähig, den MegaCli zu nutzen :d

delayPOST = 0 # intentional delay to be introduced during FW POST. Possible coded values: 0 to 7,which gives a value of 0,15,30,45,60,75,90,105 seconds

Bei mir müsste der Controller derzeit auf 4 (60 Sekunden gezählt) stehen. Wie kann ich den Wert ändern, die Bootzeit also verkürzen (egal auf welchem Weg)?
 
Also ich hab mit der Sun_0048 keine lange Initialisierungszeit :)

Der Link auf Seite 1 geht leider nicht und ich hatte nur die IBM 47er im Netz gefunden. Wenn das mit der SUN FW besser ist, ist mir die natürlich herzlich willkommen :)
 
Zu früh gefreut, geht trotz deiner FW nicht schneller...
Dauert nach wie vor knapp über 1 Minute bis er mit dem Controller durch ist beim booten:-(

Jemand einen Tipp? Bitte? :)

Edit: habe im WebBios schon den "Spinup Drive Count" von 2 auf 4 gesetzt und den "Spinup Dely" von 12 runter auf 4. Hat aber null Wirkung auf die Bootdauer. Der Controller "chillt" einfach eine Minute bevor die LW-Initialisierung startet. Das nervt :-(

Die Initalisierung an sich geht dann schnell auf 100%, es hakt also vorher. Sicherheitshalber hab ich es aber gerade ohne Platten getestet, kein Unterschied ;-)


MegaCli behebt das Problem ;)

Kannst du mir etwas detaillierter Helfen oder war dein Tipp schon alles? :P

Sichern der Config:
megaoem -adpsettings write -f filename.ini -a0

In der filename.INI die Zeit runtersetzen.

Restoren der Config:
megaoem -adpsettings read -f filename.ini -a0
 
Sorry für die lange Wartezeit, war kaum daheim die letzte Zeit. Aber habe das gerade ausprobiert und siehe da, funktioniert. Jetzt wird schön schnell gebootet :)

Hat jemand einen D2616 mit der 0048 LSI-Firmware erfolgreich in Betrieb?
 
Habe nun einen M5014 in einem Dell T20 mit 6x4TB HGST Deskstar NAS. Das ganze soll bislang als NAS fungieren (Backup + Datengrab) & Streamen von Inhalten. Bin gerade am überlegen welches OS das ganze erhalten soll. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit den Megaraid Storage Manager (Bedienung über Webinterface) bei Nas4Free hinzubekommen?
Ode ist es sinnvoller Windows Server 2008 (hab noch msdnaa key) zu verwenden?
 
Hallo zusammen,
auch ich hab mir einen solchen Controller zugelegt (M5014) und wollte diesen gestern auf dem Supermicro X9SCM-F verbauen. Dieses Board wurde ja auch im Eingangspost als kompatibel angegeben.
Leider brachte ich jedoch kein Lebenszeichen vom Controller hervor.
Ich habe den Controller in den ersten (später zum Testen auch in den zweiten) PCIe-Slot verbaut, der ein PCIe 2.0 x8 Slot ist.
Leider erscheint beim Booten keine Meldung vom Controller, so dass ich auch das RAID-BIOS nicht öffnen kann. Kann das an dem UEFi-BIOS des Boards liegen?
Im Board-BIOS habe ich ebenfalls keine Möglichkeit gefunden, die Konfiguration des Controllers zu öffnen.
Auch das installierte Betriebssystem hat keine solche Hardware erkannt.

Zum Testen habe ich den Controller danach in ein Board gesetzt, in dem mein bisheriger RAID-Controller (Promise FastTrack EX8350) problemlos lief. Aber auch da kein Lebenszeichen vom M5014.
Gehe ich nun richtig davon aus, dass der Controller defekt zu sein scheint oder habe ich irgendwas grundlegendes übersehen?

Ich glaube du musst das uefi BIOS auf nativ stellen. Der controller kann afaik kein uefi.
 
Mein M5015 läuft auf nem AsRock Z77 Pro4-m mit UEFI absolut problemlos. Sogar der olle MR10i kommt damit klar. Ich würde eher sagen der Controller ist hin wenn er auf 2 Boards keinen Mucks macht.

@Digi-Quick: "megarec -adplist" hat den Controller auch nicht gefunden. Das ist ja unabhängig vom geflashten BIOS, oder?
 
So, kurzes Update. Der Controller war wohl wirklich im Eimer. Neuen bestellt, eingebaut, Power on und läuft.
Das Flashen hab ich mir gespart, da mir der Funktionsumfang so reicht, wie er ist.

Hallo leute,

ich habe hier einen IBM M5015 mit der LSI Firmware Package Version: 12.13.0-0179 bzw. Firmware Version: 2.130.383-2854 am laufen. Wollte nun mal updaten.
Dazu habe ich zwei Fragen:
Kann ich mit dem MegaRAID Storage Manager ein Update einspielen oder bin ich gezwungen das Update über die Kommandozeile im DOS zu machen?
Kann ich die neuste Firmware von hier MegaRAID SAS 9260-8i ohne Probleme einspielen? Wird die Konfiguration übernommen?

Ich hoffe, ihr könnt mir da weiterhelfen.

Wenn du bereits eine LSI-Firmware hast wirst glaub ich keine Probleme bzgl. der Config bei einem Update erhalten.
Das Update kannste ohne Probleme über den Storage Manager durchführen.

Hallo,

ich habe einen IBM 5015 Controller auf einem SuperMicro Board "X10SLH-F" am laufen (Stand noch nicht in der Liste im Post#1:banana:).

Aktuell laufen folgende Versionen auf dem Controller

  • FirmwareVersion: 2.130.353-1663
  • FW Package Version: 12.12.0-0111

Support/Fragen

  • Auf welche Versionen sollte ich den Controller aktualisieren?
  • Welche Einstellungen würdet ihr bei einem Raid5 bestehend aus drei 6TB SATA Disks verwenden?

Würde einfach die aktuellste Firmware aufspielen.
Außer du willst HDD-Spindown nutzen - dann muss die Oracle_12.12.0.0-0048 oder IBM_12.12.0-0047 Firmware drauf.
Aber ob die beiden älteren FW-Versionen 6 TB Platten dann unterstützt ist fraglich.
