Grundsätzlich sind alle LGA1155 Sandy-Bridge CPUs kompatibel zum ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe. Wer jedoch seinen Prozzi möglichst weit übertakten möchte,
der kommt an einem Modell mit dem Zusatz "K" im Namen nicht vorbei. Denn auschliesslich diese lassen einen höheren "Turbomulti" zu. Modelle ohne "K"
besitzen einen festen maximalen "Turbomulti" und sind daher für OC ungeeignet, da der Referenztakt nur von 100MHz auf maximal 105-110MHz
erhöht werden kann (kommt sonst zu Instabilitäten!).

Kannst du mir mal deine Temperaturen unter Last durchsagen? Ich habe das gleiche Setup und nach 10 Minuten Prime95 (Small FFTs) betragen die Kerne ~65 - 70°C. Und hattest du beim ersten Start des PCs auch die Fehlermeldung "CPU Fan Error" und musstest die CPU Fan Speed Low Limit herunterstellen, damit du ins Windows kommst?

Die Meldung ist normal, der CPU Lüfter dreht halt langsamer als die Mindesteinstellung im UEFI. Hatte ich schon bei vielen Mainboards.

Das ist die Frage.. möglicherweise erkennt das UEFI einfach den Drehzahlbereich nicht richtig. Hoffentlich kommt da noch ein Update.

Fehlermeldung hatte ich keine und musste auch nix herunterstellen. Prime kann ich mal durchlaufen lassen. Glaube mich aber zu erinnern, dass bei meinem Test vor einigen Wochen die Temps nicht großartig über 60 Grad gingen (gemessen mit CoreTemp). Eventuell mal die Lüftersteuerung in Fan Xpert agressiver einstellen.
Das ist echt schwach von ASUS mit den UEFI-Settings. Die Lüftersteuerung über das BIOS war mich einer der Hauptgründe für den Kauf dieses Boards. Bei meinen früheren ASUS Boards fand ich die BIOS Lüftersteurung echt Klasse.
Will keine Zusatzsoftware wie AI Suite starten! Sieht zwar grafisch net aus und funzt auch, ist aber nur unnötiger Ballast beim hochfahren.

Sei doch froh das es überhaupt geht. Und bei deinem System brauchst du wegen einem 20 MB Programm im Ram doch nicht so einen Aufstand machen!?
Sicher, schöner wäre es über das UEFI, aber im Moment funzt das halt nicht, mach das beste draus, vielleicht erbarmt sich Asus das ja mal in einem Update zu fixen.

Find die AI Suite an sich auch Klasse, ist eher eine Prinzip Sache. Stören tut es mich auch nicht mehr und bei einer SSD fällt es gar nicht mehr auf Der Mensch ist ja ein Gewohnheitstier...
Will aber von Anfang an versuchen mein System von Programmen freizuhalten die nicht wirklich nötig sind. Außerdem kann es zu Konflikten mit anderen Programmen kommen. Habe hier die Erfahrung gemacht, dass Fan Xpert und auch andere AI Programme mit einer Fehlermeldung gestartet sind nachdem ich TuneUp Utilities installiert hatte. Ergebnis war ich musste das ganze System neuinstallieren.

Das Problem der AI Suite ist, dass es Zero core power der amd karten behindert. Durch die ständige Messung der Sensoren usw wacht die Karte bei mir immer wieder auf. :/
Ansonsten find ichs auch ganz gut.

Hm, dann sind meine Temperaturen ja mindestens 10°C zu hoch. Kannst du mir noch sagen, welche WLP du benutzt hast und wie du diese aufgetragen hast (verstrichen oder Klecks in die Mitte)? Und wie viel dreht sich dein CPU-Lüfter im Idle und unter Last (laut Fan Xpert)? Bei mir sind es im Idle 589RPM und unter Last um die 700RPM.

Man könnte im Extremfall die nach Feststellungen einiger Ivy-Bridge Besitzer wohl recht mäßige von Intel intern verwendete Wärmeleitpaste (WLP) dieser CPUs auswechseln. Siehe hier:

Da ich meine Core i7-3770T immer noch nicht bekommen kann und, wenn ich sie dann habe, meinen neuen P8Z77-V PC eher im Energiesparbereich betreiben werde, wird eine derartige Aktion für mich wohl nicht infrage kommen. Es sei denn, die Temperaturen sind extrem hoch. Als WLP zwischen Kühler (Alpenföhn Matterhorn PURE - 2 PWR-Lüftern) werde ich Arktic MX-4 benutzen.

Kannst du mir mal deine Temperaturen unter Last durchsagen? Ich habe das gleiche Setup und nach 10 Minuten Prime95 (Small FFTs) betragen die Kerne ~65 - 70°C. Und hattest du beim ersten Start des PCs auch die Fehlermeldung "CPU Fan Error" und musstest die CPU Fan Speed Low Limit herunterstellen, damit du ins Windows kommst?

Ansonsten kann ich wohl echt froh sein, dass bei meinem ersten Selbstbau-PC soweit alles glatt läuft P8Z77V-Pro + be quiet! E9-Straight Power und nix "fiept", "pfeift" oder "grummelt" beim hochfahren (trotz installierter AI-Suite). Mit SSD 830 128GB + trotz 1206er-Bios in 18 sec. auffem Desktop, nach 31 sec. im INet. Und ich höre nix von meinen 3 Gehäuselüftern und dem CPU-Lüfter. Auch nicht bei Two Worlds II in max. Auflösung auf dem 24"-TFT.
Ich denke, ich habe alles richtig gemacht nicht zuletzt dank der Erfahrungsberichte hier im Forum. Und wenn jemand Daten zum Vergleich benötigt, einfach anschreiben.

WTF? unter Win7? Wie geht das denn? Mein Rechner braucht 30sec. bis der Windows Sound ertönt.
Btw, mit deaktiviertem Logo dauert der Boot 3sec. länger mit aktueller BIOS 1206 Version.

Hm ich bin nach ca. 34 s im Windows und kann dann auch sofort ins Internet.. also Chrome startet da schon sofort und lädt die Seite.
Aber wie das mit 18 s klappen soll ist eine gute Frage. Mein Rechner vertrödelt am Anfang ca 6 s mit schwarzem Bildschirm, erst dann kommt der Post Screen.

Nein. IME ist fester Bestandteil von Rechnern mit Intel-Chipsätzen. Außerdem ist die ME-Firmware im UEFI fest verankert, siehe UEFI/Hauptmenü.
Gehe doch mal ins Asus-Forum (Hardwareluxx) und nenne doch da mal dein Anliegen bezüglich ME, die Asus-Mitarbeiter können dich am ehesten aufklären.

Wie kann es sein, dass der erst aktiv wird, sobald ich per Hand in der AI Suite II aufrufe? Letztere wird mit Windows gestartet, scheint aber den Fan Xpert 2 nicht aktiv zu schalten...

Kann ich nicht bestätigen. Würde reinstallieren und ggf. von der Asus Seite die neueste Version ziehen. Die Steuerung greift bei mir sofort beim Anmeldescreen.

Es gab mal eine FanXpert Version, bei der waren jedes mal nach einem Neustart die Einstellungen weg. Mit dem Update 1.00.15 wurde dieser Bug behoben.
In der aktuellen Version AI Suite II V1.02.33 ist das FanXpert-Update enthalten.

Es gab mal eine FanXpert Version, bei der waren jedes mal nach einem Neustart die Einstellungen weg. Mit dem Update 1.00.15 wurde dieser Bug behoben.
In der aktuellen Version AI Suite II V1.02.33 ist das FanXpert-Update enthalten.

Hallo zusammen,

hat von Euch schon jemand eine Lösung zur Installation über UEFI? Habe mir das Board mit eine Intel 520 SSD und 2 2GB HD gekauft. Verwenden tu ich die org. Microsoft win 7 64bit DVD oder einen entsprechend für UEFI modifizierten USB Stick und die neuste Firmware. Wenn ich UEFI/Legacy Boot auf Enables UEFI and disables Legacy stelle wird kein Bootmedium erkannt. Stelle ich Enables both ein, werden beide Bootmedien erkannt, es wird aber nicht GPT sondern MBR installiert.

Habt Ihr schon eine lösung dafür?

Im Bootmenü (über F8 oder über das BIOS) müssten dein DVD-Laufwerk bzw. dein USB-Stick jeweils zweimal aufscheinen; einmal mit dem normalen Namen und einmal mit dem Vorsatz "UEFI: ....".
Für UEFI-Installation musst du dann natürlich den zweiten Eintrag wählen.
Checke mal, ob du beide Einträge hast.
Den Eintrag unter UEFI/Legacy Boot habe ich auf default gelassen (Both).

Habe jetzt nochmal nachgesehen.
Bei mir ist es so, wie man es erwarten würde: Legacy - man sieht alle Nicht-UEFI-Laufwerke, UEFI - man sieht nur UEFI-Laufwerke, Both - man sieht alles.
Welches Board und BIOS hast du eigentlich? Ich habe das P8Z77-V mit aktuellem BIOS 1205. Ich denke aber, daß sich in diesem Punkt alle Boards der Serie gleich verhalten.

Ich vermute, daß dein Boot-Medium nicht als UEFI-Medium erkannt wird.
Beim USB-Stick muss die Datei BOOTX64.EFI von Hand in das Verzeichnis \EFI\BOOT kopiert werden.
Angeblich machen auch DVD's mit integriertem SP1 Schwierigkeiten.

Hast du die Möglichkeit, deine DVD bzw. deinen USB-Stick auf einem anderen System zu testen?

Aber die Modifikation mit der BOOTX64.EFI hast du gemacht?
Ist die DVD noch die "alte" ohne SP1? Mir wird meine Kopie inkl. SP1 auch nicht als UEFI-Medium angezeigt, nur die ohne SP1. Ich installiere aber normalerweise sowieso lieber vom Stick (schneller und geräuschloser).

Jedenfalls kannst du nur durch Auswahl eines "UEFI: ..." - Bootmediums auch eine UEFI-Installation durchführen. Solange es nicht zur Auswahl steht, wird es nicht klappen.

Es gibt zwar die Möglichkeit, im nachhinein von MBR auf GPT umzustellen, aber das ist ziemlich mühsam...
