Anarchy Mode
Anarchy Mode is a co-op team based multiplayer mode. Up to 4 players take on continuous waves of increasingly difficult enemies.
This mode is expected to be like Gears of War's Horde Mode with a few twists: progress is measured in Skillshots and Team Skillshots. Enemies will spawn with a display over their heads that tell you which Team Skillshot you need to perform to progress. Teamwork is essential in this mode because if the correct team manuver isn't performed, you won't move forward.
Correctly performing Team Skillshots fills up the Blood Symphony meter, which kills everything you touch when activated.
You also earn experience points in multiplayer that you can use to unlock perks: helmets, boots, camouflage, taunts, weapon skins, and differently colored leashes. (Kudos to PCF on making the unlockables here purely cosmetic! I hate it when there's a disparity in multiplayer based on who has spent the most time unlocking things...) Before the round starts, the Drop Shop allows you to choose the weapons you want.
Echo Mode
This is the least exciting mode between the two of them... it's essentially a tougher single-player run focusing on points. Achieving a specific point goal opens up a new part of the map on Echo Mode. Then upload and compare scores on a leaderboard. Yawn. This isn't multiplayer so much as a competitive mode.
Now, these are just the multiplayer modes that have been revealed THUS FAR and not at all an exhaustive review of all multiplayer modes that will be in the game.
Good news for Horde fans though... personally my favorite part of GoW multiplayer!
