Alltagstaugliche Desktop-Systeme mit 6W Idle-Verbrauch (inkl. Haswell Beispiel)

Gibt es eigentlich eine Seite wo man die C-States der Prozessoren sieht?
Bei z.B. cpu-world.com ist das ja nicht gelistet.
Alles ab Haswell kann mindestens C6, was im Grunde schon ausreicht. Neuere CPUs können bis zu C10, was man natürlich gerne mitnimmt, aber keinen großen Unterschied mehr macht.

Oder ist bei denen C3 was bei Windows C7 oder höher ist?
Die Benennung dürfte nix mit dem Betriebssystem zu tun haben. Zumindest bei Linux heißt das genauso.
 
Wenn Du diese Anzeige nicht sehen willst, registriere Dich und/oder logge Dich ein.
Schau dir das mal mit Powertop an. Am besten Manjaro, dort gibt es schon die neuste Version.

Package Power(OS) geht bei mir bis C3.
CPU(OS) bis C7
iGPU RC6

In den älteren Versionen von Powertop werden bei mir falsche Werte angezeigt, mit der Version 2.13(github) sieht es mit einer Intel 10400 CPU wieder korrekt aus.

Schau dir das mal mit Powertop an. Am besten Manjaro, dort gibt es schon die neuste Version.
Da es jetzt die Firewall ist möchte ich ungern was anderes installieren. Hab dann solange kein Internet.
Powertop ist bei freeBSD wohl Powermon. Und dann gibts wohl noch intel-pcm.
Beides in pfSense aber leider nicht verfügbar :-(
 
Okay, klar. Ansonsten, hätte auch schon ein Live-USB-Stick ausgereicht, dort das Paket Powertop installieren(oder ist es schon dabei, ich weiß es nicht mehr genau) und mit "powertop" als root ausgeführt nachschauen. Die Optimierungen kann man sich dann, falls man systemd verwendet, beim Start laden lassen(Link). Das kann sich dann ja jeder für sein System anpassen, also bei deinem ist das eher nicht der Fall.

Bestimmt einfach andere Kernel / DefaultConfig, versuche es unter Fedora oder Ubuntu da gibt es sehr, sehr viele Kernel-Quellen. Ein ganz aktuelles (oder beta) FreeBSD wird da u.U. auch was raushauen: z.B. FreeBSD 13

Die Treiber für die Unterstützung von >C3 schreiben sich nicht von allein.

Intel arbeit am Linux-Kernel mit und schreibt direkt die Unterstützung von package c-states (referenz: kernel von Intel Mitarbeitern).
Bei BSD gibt es keinen einheitlichen Kernel und die "Veröffentlichungspflicht" des Codes gibt es auch nicht afaik.
Das macht die Kommerzialisierung bei BSD leichter, aber verhindert vielleicht auch dass manche Features weiter verbreitet werden.

Die technischen Daten für die Unterstützung sind bei Intel CPUs wohl öffentlich in den Datenblättern der jeweiligen CPUs einsehbar - "Technical Resources: Intel® Core™ Processors"
 
In der 30W Liste war nix dabei? Willst du nur die CPU ersetzen oder alles neu aufbauen?
Ich möchte einen 6W PC komplett neu aufbauen. Anforderung ist wieder ca. 6W im Idle, so wie mein alter mit B150+G3900.
Leider habe ich bisher kein aktuelles Mainboard + aktueller CPU gefunden, wo man in diese Richtung kommt. War vor ein paar Jahren irgendwie einfacher.
Jemand noch eine Idee?

Interessant wäre vielleicht auch in der Zukunft der Pentium Silver N6000; vielleicht kommt der fest auf ein Mainboard.
Einen N5000 hatte ich schon mal getestet, aber der fühlt sich nicht schneller als ein G3900 an; dem fehlt es einfach an Single Core Leistung.
 
Guten Abend zusammen,

ich versuche seit einigen Tagen meine Kombi in einen Idle State von min. C6 zu bekommen, leider ist aktuell bei C3 Ende (siehe Bilderverlauf).
Die Kombi besteht aus Intel i3 8100, ASRock H370M-HDV, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB, Crucial 8GB DIMM 2400 & 300W Netzteil.

Alle Treiber sind installiert und auch ein Deaktivieren von Realtek LAN sowie Audio Device bringt zwar 0,4W Ersparnis aber keine C State höhrere Stufe.

BIOS Versionen gibt es aktuell nur die 1. Version -> Urversion.

Habe schon sämtliche Einstellungen im Bios versucht (gerade Wechsel von Aktiviert & Auto).
Dies kann allein 2-3W ausmachen.
Mit dieser Einstellung (siehe Bios Bilder) läuft es aktuell mit der kleinsten Leistungsaufnahme.

Was kann ich noch versuchen ? Denke an den Einstellungen im Bios wird es weniger liegen.
Da habe ich viel durchprobiert - Aber vielleicht ist es das Bios selbst ?

@Guiekalle Unter Linux mit Monitor auf DPMS-off aktiv z.B. via SSH `lspci -vvv` posten, nach einem vorherigen `powertop --auto-tune`, Platte muss aber vorher auf Standby gehen, ExternalPort und Hotplug deaktiviert sein.

Habe es noch mal ausführlich gemacht, die Lastaufnahme ist nun 0,5W besser als WIN10.
Aber der C State C3 bleibt.

Leider Win10 x64 als Betriebssystem

Es gibt mal hier und mal das Problemchen, die vom Board-Hersteller mehr oder weniger gut umgesetzt wurden aber auch die Preipherie Firmware kann Ursache sein..
Mit 0815 ATX NT, i5 9600K, 16GB Ram, Big Shuriken mit BL039 Fan kommt man mit SATA SSD auf 5.0 bis 6.2W aber sobald eine NVMe im System ist, werden die Package C-States C10 nicht mehr erreicht und das System liegt bei knappen ~9W, da die Autonomous Power State Transition APST der NVMe im Active State Power Management ASPM nicht umgesetzt werden. Bei den Kingston A2000 NVMe (Firmware Controller) führt das zum Absturz unter Linux aber auch die 970er Samsung verhindern C10, bei C3 ist Schicht im Schacht.

@Guiekalle ist die Platte im Standby und ist der Grafik Port wirklich im dmps-off und kein USB mehr angeschlossen vor dem lspci -vvv ? Ist vorher auch das Auto-Tune gelaufen? Die Netzwerkkarte sieht zumindest gut aus.

Habe gewartet bis die HDD mit dem schönen Klang sich abgeschaltet hat, der Bildschirm sich selbst ausgeschaltet hat. Zuvor auto-tune ausgeführt und danach alle USB Devices abgezogen und ausgeschaltet. Erst danach als alle Zustände erreicht waren mit root Rechten lspci -vvv über Putty ausgeführt.
