Die Sockelhalterung entspricht exakt der AM2(+) version, daher passen alle Kühler die auch mit dem M2RS(H) kompatibel sind.

Passende Wasserkühler:

Das Boardlayout entspricht ebenfalls dem des M2RSH, daher passen alle Wasserkühler die auch mit dem 790FXB-M2RS(H) verwendet werden können.

Nun, bei mir ist die Erklärung ziemlich einfach: Wegen des deutschen MSI-Forums, das topt jeden technischen Support. Bezüglich Produkt- und Servicequalität nehmen sich die Hersteller eigentlich nichts. Jeder hat mal Ausreißer in die eine oder andere Richtung. So ein Endanwenderforum jedoch ist in meien Augen eine echte Bereicherung. Gigabyte hat auch noch ein gutes Forum, aber das kommt meines Erachtens noch nicht an das MSI-Forum heran.

Was den 890FX mit der SB850 betrifft: Das ist einfach nur der Nachfolger des mittlerweile mehr als 2 Jahre alten 790FX (je nach Board mit SB600 oder SB 750) und kommt für Sockel AM3. Natürlich nimmt der auch die neuen Sechskerner.
Von einem aktuellen AM2+-Board würde ich heute nicht auf ein AM3-Board umsteigen, sondern wenigstens auf die 890er Boards warten. Die ersten Bretter sind ja schon für das Frühjahr angekündigt.

naja über das MSI FOrum hab ich geteilte Meinung mir wurde da jedenfalls nicht geholfen seitens MSI aber anderes Thema.
Grundsätzlich lässt sich sagen das das MSI GD70 richtungs Speicher, das mit am Besten funktionierende ist, grade in anbetracht wenn man auf 1600 speicher gehen will kommt man am GD70 kaum vorbei, da DFI das UT AM3 nicht gebracht hat, gibt es derzeit keine
Alternativen. wie es mit den 890FX aussehen wird muss sich zeigen, derzeit versucht MSI seinen ruf als "billigheimer" abzulegen und geht sehr forsch ans werk was schon an Asrock stark erninnert.

Na na, das Geunke höre ich normalerweise nur von Usern, die für unter 40 Euro absolute High-Tech-Ware fordern. Das bertrifft dann auch alle Marken... :rolleyes:

@hydrotoxin: Da lasse ich mich mal überraschen, ob es wirklich ein UT wird, das könnte dann noch einmal interessant werden. Bis jetzt steht nur was von "High-End" geschrieben, und das ist immer wieder Auslegungssache...

gegenüber dem UT von öse gibts keinen vorteil ;) aber gegenüber allen anderen Boards hat MSI das einzige das gütmütig mit 1600 speichern ümgeht und fast alle laufen auch 1600 auf dem board.

@Wiesel nein war ne grafikkarte wo sie einen Bug eingebaut haben, oder warum hat eine Grafikkarte DUAL DFI wenn man sie nur Singel nutzen kann. sobald duale Config blauer Bildschirm ende, singel alles ok, egal welcher Port und die Grafikkarte hat weit über 100Euro gekostet wo ich so etwas nicht aktzeptiere.

das wäre zwar sehr schön nur den Ruf müssen sie erstmal bei den AMD usern wieder aufbauen, die vorfreude auf das FX790 AM3 war einfach sehr hoch.

hallo jungs,
ich glaub nun ist es soweit, mein board verabschiedet sich wohl ^^.
seit gestern abend folgendes (ohne hardware-änderungen am system etc.):

ich wollte den rechner normal über windows runterfahren. er fährt runter aber alle lüfter bleiben an, fast so wie im suspend-mode.
ist aber nicht im suspend.
drücke ich den powerknopf, fährt der rechner normal hoch, also das gesamte POST-szenario.
diesmal shutdown per powerknopf, rechner fährt runter, lüfter bleiben alle an.
der rechner geht nur aus, wenn ich das netzteil ausschalte.

--> netzteil wieder an... alle lüfter laufen, POST zeigt 88.
drücke ich nun den powerbutton, fährt der rechner wie oben normal hoch ins windows. POST FF

zusätzlich wird nun meine X-Fi pci-karte nichtmehr im BIOS erkannt.
die DVB-S pci-karte wird erkannt und läuft auch.

was ich schon gemacht hab:
alle usb-geräte ab
festplatten ab
pci-karten raus-rein, slots gewechselt
mehrmals CMOS-clear

alles nichts gebracht

ich versuch nun noch mal das BIOS neu zu flashen ...

hat noch jemand ne idee?

hab gerade auf onboard-sound umgestellt, also treiber installiert etc.
nach nem neustart wird nun auch die DVB-S pci-karte nichtmehr erkannt.

Schiet, damit scheidet die X-Fi als Fehlerquelle wohl aus. Das wäre wohl zu seltsam, wenn sich die X-Fi und die DVB-S-Karte quasi gleichzeitig verabschieden.

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass Du auch mit Standardsettings die Probleme hast und nicht nur mit übertakteter CPU? Dann tippe ich auf ein defektes Board.

PCI hängt doch mit an der northbridge oder?

kanns am netzteil liegen? hab leider keins mehr hier, gerade verschenkt.

€dit: hab die dvb-karte nochmals in nem anderen slot probiert, nu gehtse wieder. die x-fi bleibt tot. das shutdownproblem besteht nach wie vor.

wird wohl ne RMA, nu muss ich nur schnellstmöglich n neues board besorgen ^^

das selbe hatte ich gestern hab dann über nacht stecker gezogen nun läuft es wieder normal, fand das auch komisch wollte einfach nicht ausgehen.

kleines update:
das netzteil wars !
ich hatte es doch noch ausgebaut, um alles geprüft zu haben.
es schaltet sich nicht aus, sprich: es läuft an, auch wenn nichts angeschlossen ist ^^
is mir in 20 jahren auch noch nich vorgekommen ...

mit nem anderen netzteil läuft der rechner nun wieder.
und ~guess what~ die x-fi und die dvb-karte hab ich auch wieder zum leben erweckt.
gefühlte 100 mal rein-rausgesteckt und tunerspray (kontaktspray) haben es erstmal geschafft.

mein neu bestelltes 790FXB kommt morgen an. wenn bis morgen alles durchhält, kann ich es gleich zurückgehen lassen :wall:

nun brauch ich erstmal n bier :d

wobei ja n neues netzteil mittlerweile teurer ist als das board ^^
zumindest kann ich die x-fi noch ne weile behalten.
insgesamt also doch billiger ;)

das ganze konstrukt muss eben noch bis zum 890FX durchhalten.
 
Hast du ein glück, mein 790FXB kommt jetzt endgültig weg. Nach ner Reparatur bei DFI kann ich keine spannungen mehr einstellen. Sprich wenn ich im PWM Managment den einen eintrag von auto auf manuell umschalte und dann neu starte geht nichts mehr.
Errorcode ist dann ein umgedrehtes C und eine 1
nächstes Board wird kein DFI dank dem bescheidenem Support. Mir doch tatsächlich unterstellen zu wollen das ich zu dumm sei das einzustellen (Zitat:"Your ability or inability as it may be to "adjust voltages" is of no interest to DFI")

Naja, damit hat sich das Thema für die erledigt...

vor allem wenns als "Cutting-Edge Overclocking Board" verkauft wird...
dann is ja das Einstellen von Spannungen nicht wichtig...
 
Das würde ich an Deiner Stelle nicht so stehen lassen. Du hast Anspruch auf ein intaktes Board, solange DFI Garantie gewährt. Ich würde den Support nicht mit dem Spruch davonkommen lassen.

OT [spekulation]: es gab ja mal gerüchte, dass sich DFI aus der consumer-sparte mit seinen mainboards zurückziehen will ...
entweder ist da was dran und der support hat keine lust mehr oder:
die MÜSSEN sich bald zurückziehen, weil solch ein support die kunden verjagt ;)

das is auch das was jetzt bei mir passiert, das nächste board wird ein MSI, DFI kommt trotz 12 DFI boards bis jetzt nicht mehr ins haus
 
Your welcome to discuss the matter for suggestions on our forum at DFI Club. Note however that on matters of RMA in Europe my decisions are final and there is no further method of appeal. I tried to subtley give you some hints as to how to proceed, but you seemed to have not understood them. I will be more blunt.

I do not believe for a second that the board has lost the ability to regulate voltage. If it did, it simply wouldn't function. It is very unlikely that the situation is as black and white as you state. The voltage regulation on any board is governed by the same circuitry that handles the OC potential as well as the default voltages. It is not 2 seperate circuits. In other words a range of voltages are available of which the default voltage is just one possible value. If the board is incapable of allowing voltage changes as you state then the only logical explanation is that something is damaged. If that was the case the board would behave strangely or not at all at default voltages. As you state thou everything works fine at default.


This leaves me with 2 lines of thinking:

1: You are exaggerating the inability of the board to regulate voltages. I suspect that it may be true that it can't go as far as it once did, and it is not that it can't go past defaults at all. My experience tells me that if I take the board back and push it just slightly past default it will work fine.

2: Your peripherals have degraded somewhat due to the initial failure and can not sustain voltage changes that you once experienced. Again you can't push things as far as you once did or perhaps the peripherals can't sustain changes at all. (Yes I'm sure it all works fine on another board).

I'm not unreasonable and if I feel there is strong evidence of issues at default values, then I will consider taking the board back once again. Until that time the matter is case closed however as I told you earlier.

@M3ph15t: Teste doch mal in Minimalkonfiguration. Wenn unser lieber supporter Recht hat, dann sollte das Problem dann ja nicht auftreten. Wenn doch, hat er wohl unrecht.
