Hat jemand noch mehr Punkte, die ihr am P5WDH bemängelt? Sonst fange ich jetzt an zum Finalen Schlag auszuholen

Ja, leider etwas krass. Wir wissen natürlich auch, dass bei vielen das P5WDH sehr gut läuft, so wie auch andere Boards. Nur gibt es eben eine Menge Leute, bei denen das nicht so ist. Dadurch, dass der Support hierzulande praktisch völlig nutzlos ist schaukelt sich der Frust über das Board eben hoch.

Ich zB wüsste jetzt eben auch keine andere Möglichkeit als so nen offenen Brief um der Situation Abhilfe zu verschaffen.

Könnte jetzt natürlich auch sein, dass die Übernahme von Asus tatsächlich vor der Tür steht, damit könnte das ganz auch völlig fürn Ar*** sein. Könnte aber auch genau das Gegenteil der Fall sein, könnte ja sein, dass dadruch erst jemand drauf aufmerksam wird, der auch was zu sagen hat.

users are facing big problems running their ram properly with high fsb. there are not enough options to enter all timings manually. os the only possibility the get the system run with high fsb is to use the ram-configuration "by SPD". especially G.Skill uses relaxed timings in SPD and users are no longaer able to use the timings promised by G.Skill. so what about more options for experienced users in the bios? another point is the so called "reboot"-Bug: the system shut down for five seconds an then posting again if ur doing a reboot while using high cpu-overclocking. okay the EZ-bios-protection is quiet fine. but what about the possibility to disabled that bug? would be quiet nice. harddisk-drives will honor an update with higher lifetime.

and what about behavior with fsb over 370mhz? cause the bios uses tight MCH-timings its impossible to use ram-divides as 4:5 or so. at 430mhz even 1:1 is no longer possible. you have to use 4:3 to get the cpu even higher. other brands are using relaxed chipset-timings. so ur able to run with 4:5 even over 400mhz fsb (e.g. Intel 975XBX)

right tight timings are quiet okay. you are able to use cheap ram and get high fsbs without any problems and the board is very fast, but there are users willing to use there DDR2-800 or even DDR2-1000. so an option: fast/slow-MCH-mode would be quiet nice. in other words: give us more freedom to decide what way we want to go.

was auch noch rein sollte ist vielleicht die geschichte mit dem austauschen der heatpipe/lüfter und behalten der garantie solange das board keinen schaden erleidet (siehe DFI)

Hallo,
ich habe vor etlichen Jahren auch ein Asus Board gehabt ein A7V8X. Das Board hatte ich geschenkt bekommen als es gerade neu auf den Markt gekommen war. Da gab es das Board vielleicht 2 Monate. Knapp ein halbes Jahr später hatte ich Probleme damit und es war defekt (ohne Änderung am System oder sonstige erkennbare Gründe. Da ich das Board geschenkt bekommen hatte, hatte ich keine Rechnung und wusste auch nicht, bei welchem Händler das Board gekauft wurde.
Aus dem Grund hatte ich mich damals auch an den Support von Asus gewendet. Das Board konnte schliesslich maximal 8 Monate alt sein, da noch nicht länger am Markt und Asus hat ja mit 3 Jahren Garantie geworben... Ich habe per Mail und auch telekonisch Kontakt mit Asus aufgenommen. Asus hat mir damals leider nicht weitergeholfen. Die haben nur gesagt, dass ich ohne Rechnung keine Garantie habe. Eine Reparatur könne nur kostenpflichtig erfolgen.
Das war mein letztes Mainboard von Asus. Habe das Board daraufhin als defekt für nen Appel und ein Ei abgegeben und mir damals ein MSI gekauft. Bei anderen Herstellern (z.B. DFI) habe ich auch schon eine RMA in anspruch genommen und dort steht auch üblicherweise auf den Homepages "Rechnungskopie beilegen". Dort war es aber bisher nie ein Problem auch ohne Rechnung den entsprechenden Support zu erhalten. Bei meinen Produkten war ja klar, dass sie noch nicht so alt sein können, dass keine Garantie mehr besteht.
Wenn das damals anders gelaufen wäre, wäre das K7V8X sicher nicht mein letztes Mainboard von Asus gewesen... durch diesen nicht gerade kundenfreundlichen Support hat Asus mich als Kunden verloren.
Eigenlich wollte ich jetzt eventuell mal wieder ein Asus kaufen. Allerdings hat sich beim Support ja anscheinend nicht wirklich etwas gebessert...
Auf jeden Fall eine gute Aktion hier!

It is also almost impossible to get a usefull answer from Phone Support, the technicans, if they can even be called that way, are mostly incompetent or, as it seems, unwilling to help. Most Users consider the Asus Phone Support a waste of time and money.

The P5W-DH dilemma
The Asus P5W-DH is a great motherboard, at least in theory. There a hundreds and hundreds of reports from users having all different kinds of troubles with this piece of hardware. For most of those problems the Asus Support was not able to provide a solution yet, if the have adressed those problems at all. The following will list some of those problems:
Conroe / Core 2 Duo Support:
The P5W DH provides, according to its specifications, "out of the box" support for Intels new Core 2 Duo aka Conroe CPUs. This attribute is even advertised directly on the motherboards packaging. Still, a great number of boards have been shipped with bios-version 0401. With this bios version it is impossible to run a Core 2 Duo CPU on that board. You will need an older Sockel 775 CPU, such as the Pentium 4, Pentium D or their Celeron counterparts, to flash a new biosversion to be able to run a Core 2 Duo. The question is: How to do so, if, as most users did, you bought the P5W DH specificly to run a Core 2 Duo and don't have another Sockel 775 CPU?

Asrock ist eine Tochter von Asus richtig?

Die haben noch weniger Ahnung.

Ich hätte ein Brief geschrieben wegen Ntune und Nforce 41= Chipsatz.

Laut Asrock unterstützt Ntune nur die Nforce3!

Aber Laut (Nvidia website) auch Nforce 410 ,nur muss die BIOS von die Mobo angepasst.

Diese Tatsache ahbe ich Asrock auch geschrieben -die haben Trotzdem auf ihre Standpunkt beharrt.

Auch meine Asrock Board war Defekt-trotz Rechung wollten die 42 Euro um die Ram Bank zu reparieren.

Die meinten es war meine Schuld(Kurz Schluss kann so passieren)-daruf neue Board gekauft und als Defekt bei E-Bay verkauft.

Nach diese Thread würde ich keine Asus kaufen.

Sei getrostet-MSI ist auch nicht viel besser.K8T Neo FSR und 1T Einstellung(keine Bios Option)-da könnte die auch wenig helfen!

Andere Boards machen aber auch mucken, und der Support ist nich vom Board abhängig sondern von Asus selbst, und daran muss allgemein was geändert werden. Wollen wir alle bekannten größen Probleme reinpacken? Ok.
Das mit dem Ram schreib ich mal, ob der rebootbug ein bug ist wissen wir ja nicht mal, ich formulier das mal zur frage um.

Ich würde eher einen Allgemeinen Brief verfassen und gleich hinterher, könnt ihr die dann mit den Asus P5W-DH Problemen bombardieren. In dem Allgemeinen Brief, könnt ihr ja nochmal ansprechen, dass es große Probleme bei diesem und diesem Board gab, ihr die in einem anderen Brief gesammelt habt und hofft, dass euch jez endlich vernünftig geholfen wird.

In nem OEM Pc werden sich wohl kaum die High End Boards tummeln, die werden Primär an selberbauer verkauft. Nur leider sind das auch die Boards die am meisten Probleme bei ASUS machen.

Also OC würde ich nicht so ausgeschweif behandeln, weil das ja ein Bonusfeature ist und den eigentlichen, alltäglichen Betrieb nicht beeinflusst (bis auf Hardcore OC'ler )

ja ist sicher ein Bonusfeature, aber dann darf man damit auch keine werbung machen wie bei dem A8R32

Genau das ist der Grund weshalb ich nagelneue, kaum getestete Produkte meide. Vielleicht hat selbst der Hersteller Probleme damit und bekommt sie nicht in den Griff? Er möchte es aber nicht öffentlich preis geben und somit seine Unfähigkeit darstellen.
Noch keiner hat mit dem Board, geschweige mit der neuen CPU Generation, Langzeiterfahrung. Deshalb wäre es mir zu waghalsig, denn als Produkttester möchte ich mich nicht ausgeben.
Anstelle dessen kaufe ich mir lieber ein etwas langsameres, dafür aber ausgereiftes Produkt. In diesem Fall AMD mit dem Sockel AM2. Und auf 5 Bilder in der Sekunde oder 20 Sekunden Zeitersparnis kommt es wirklich nicht an.....

hast du schon mal darüber nachgedacht, das entwicklung stattfinden muß ? kein neues produkt ist wirklich ausgereift, das ist für mich auch nur das secundäre problem, das primäre ist, wie ein hersteller mit diesen problemen und damit auch mit den usern seines produktes umgeht. asus pennt da einfach.

mit anderen worten, ich bin dabei. asus muß zum handeln gezwungen werden, sonst verlieren sie entgültig an glaubwürdigkeit.

Denke der Brief sollte Modell-unabhängig sein.
Ansonsten müßte man die ganzen probleme des P5B auch noch mit aufführen

Mein ich ja. Nicht nur das P5W-DH macht Probleme. Ihr solltet den Allgemein gestalten, und dann einen gesonderten Brief mit den Problemen des P5W-DH verfassen, oder an den anderen Brief die Problemem hintenranhängen.

Zu gerne bin ich dabei, bei der Bios-GEschichte die ich gerade mitmache würde ich am liebsten nach Taiwan selber fliegen und den Kerlen einen in Arsch treten glaubst mir

Der Brief liest sich schon sehr gut. Ich würde das mit dem P5W noch etwas kürzer fassen. Vielleicht sollte man auch hervorbringen, was sich genau ändern sollte am Support! Meckern kann ja jeder, aber was genau soll denn nun verändert werden?

Ich schlage mal ein paar vor:
- kompetenter Telefonsupport
- mehr Ressourcen für die Beantwortung von Emails
- Asus Foren, in denen Probleme von Mitarbeitern beantwortet werden
- Ausführliche Informationen zu jedem Board auf der Asus-Seite (FAQ ständig geupdated)
- transparentere Informationen zu den BIOS-Updates (Liste der Änderungen)
- Schnellere Asus-Server (teilweise mit 8 Kb/sec ist jawohl nicht hinnehmbar)

habe heute eine dicke Diskusion im Laden gehabt wegen der Folie die auf den Kühlern drauf ist,
Sie meinten es wäre eine hitzebeständige Folie die drauf bleiben muss da Asus nirgens, ich betone nochmal "nirgens" einen Hinweis gegeben hat das diese runter muss,
ich konnte sie leider nicht überzeugen !
Finde das auch ein dickes fopa, da auf zB. (fast) allen CPU Kühlern oder Wa-Kühlern eine Schutzfolie drauf ist mit einem extra Hinweis das sie runter muss
nun ja, habe jetzt 4 WDhs zusammgezimmert und würde eigendlich kaum einem Leien so eine Arbeit zumuten bzw. ein studium ablegen für das MoBo damit er es einbauen und sich sein Win installn kann so das alles funzt,
probleme gibst genug,
Bin auch stark an dem Brief interessiert,
finde das bisherige geschriebene sehr gut, nur wie schon von anderen angeschprochen, die probs mit dem WDH in einem weiteren 2. detailliertem Brief zu hängen,
sonst haben die schon am anfang kein bock mehr zu lesen
