Hi Leute
so es gibt endlich Infos zu den heißersähnten SSD-mounts
Hier gleich das was ich euch von Charles weitergeben möchte.
Hello Friends,
We are working very hard on all the pre-orders and would like to sincerely thank you for your support!
The deadline is almost here but don’t worry – we will still be able to process orders and get them in the October production run if you place your order this week.
The SSD mount design (still needs a cool name) is finalized and we are in the process of having a prototype made. Unfortunately, our local shop that produced the original one seen in Daniel’s murderbox wanted too much $$$ for the new units so we are now working with another company to manufacture them. This translates to added time because we have to go through the full process to ensure the quality will be as required.
I will say that I’m very excited about the new design – it offers much more flexibility than the original model. The unit will work with either Standard or Inverted ATX configurations and allow for many drive options. You can use up to 4 SSDs or a combination of 2 SSDs and 2 standard HDs. The shelves are vertically adjustable which means you can pretty much place them where you want. We wanted to provide a platform that offered flexibility as your HD requirements changed over time – while making the price of the unit reasonable.
The shelves will be illuminated with your choice of 3 color options: White, Blue, and Red. The unit will come with everything you need to create a stunning look – even a mini MDPC-X sleeving kit for the lighting wires!
The new design will feature vertical upright structures that will be wider than the original unit (as seen below) – this will not only provide the support needed to the shelves for mounting standard HDs but also serve to conceal the mounting holes in the TJ07 vertical drive structure.
The entire unit is mounted to the TJ07 drive structure with 7mm standoffs that will permit wires like SATA cables to be passed between the SSD mount and the TJ07 drive structure. This will provide a clean solution for cable management and further enhance the “floating look” to the shelves.
Pricing on the SSD Mount will be provided ASAP and then we will showcase the final design with images and begin taking pre-orders.
The Aquaero TJ07 mount is another item in final development. The design is exactly as seen in Daniel’s build and will be offered in either bare aluminum or Solar Black powder coat. The final price is not set but I expect the unit to sell for approximately $39USD. The unit will be mounted to the midplate with black industrial 2-sided tape as this will be much easier to install than with bolts through the midplate like in Daniel’s build – you’ll have to take my word for that.
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely than Nils and Benny for all their help – this process simply would not be possible without them and I owe both a huge debt of gratitude. J
Now I go back to work – thank you guys!
