Welche Soundkarte ist die bessere? SB 128 PCI oder ne ESS Maestro 2? Es ist sooo lange her.

Oops, this is where your real challenge comes in. The 1542 is a 16 bit card and won't work in an XT (I've even tried it!). You need something like a Trantor/Adaptec T-130.
AT compatible 16-bit SCSI cards are plentiful, but 8-bit ones are pretty rare. 8-bit bi-parallel/EPP adapters do exist, though, and parallel-to-SCSI adapters (like the Trantor/Adaptec APA-358 ) are not as hard to find as 8-bit SCSI cards.
You will need to find either an 8-bit scsi card or EPP/parallel card and a parallel-to scsi adaptor to use with your ISA interface box. It may take some hunting.

Und mit der AWE32 hab' ich mich auch herumgespielt - allerdings eher im Spiele Bereich. (Emulationsmöglichkeiten für ältere Spiele die nur Adlib / Roland MT32 oder General Midi als Musik unterstützten)
Intel Pentium Pro 200 (512 kb ) @ Asus P6NP5 + 2x 32 und 2x 16 MB EDO Ram (von IBM), Voodoo 3D Beschleuniger (KA welche genau das is ) und ne Rage 128. Soundkarte ist ne Soundblaster AWE64, dazu ne USB und LAN Karte. Maus hängt am selbstgebauten Adapter und das ganze Sys an nem selfmade ATX zu AT Adapter
