[Sammelthread] Intel DDR5 RAM OC Thread

Any word on VDDQ deltas for 48GBx2 greens to start off with?
I’m unable to train beyond 7600 C36. Tested 1.41-1.5 Mem VDD and they all boot. SA around 1.16 (tried 1.05-1.2, they all boot) gives me the least training inconsistency. I used the 60mV VDDQ delta rule, but this might not be the correct application for dual ranks.

I have 8 of the MGBD OEM Green DRs and the best 2 are balanced against the slots.

For 24GBs I’m booting (not working on a profile yet) without training issues. Skews/slopes/RTT full auto
-8200 C36 on ChA / 8400 C36 on ChB -1.53 Mem VDD 60mV delta against Mem VDDQ.
-1.35 CPU VDDQ

I was on 8000 C34 a die (stressapptest 2H) previously with the old rules before the VDDQ deltas were in.
13700K + Z690I Unify. Some tips are greatly appreciated especially with DR m-die deltas :-)

Hab mal die 7600er G.Skill auf dem Z690 Apex mit meinem 7200 32m Profil getestet. Benötigen zumindest dafür etwas weniger Spannung als die Teamgroup (1.54v/1.45v).

auch mit vdd 1.58 und vddq 1.52 erhalte ich ein Freeze.

Edit: egal wie ich die Spannungen anlege, ist verschieden. Einmal freeze bei 1h, gleiches Setting 8min. Muss an was anderem liegen.
Manchmal gibts nen 55 am Anfang.
Hab ich was vergessen einzustellen, irgend ne Option vielleicht? Oder Trainiert er jedesmal anders. Völlig random und sinnlos so. :(

Das Setting ist einfach noch nicht 100% stabil.
Mal mit Y.Cruncher VST auf den Zahn fühlen. Selektiv testen 1 bestätigen 8 bestätigen 0 bestätigen

Seems like @Vhypur was right, redoing V/F could help on new BIOS. Still needs some adjustments, but at least I can run some cycles now.
So, redid V/F is not bad: (this is my best score so far)

nice glad you got it going again, took me a bit to get mine back normal also although i still went back to 0080 bios for now, but now that i fixed my curve again once i got more time tomorrow i may try 0904 again just to compare stuff maybe try higher mem oc

I think I will do the same for the moment.
 
So from the new bios (0904) on the apex encore, i had to change my offsets a tad to bring v/f 11 back to where it was - it changed slightly from needing 0.058 to 0.055, didn't check the other offsets but they look the same i think, my memory oc also changed a bit from the profile that i was using which was auto tWTR_S & L since that was what i left it as last was 18/8 and now in order to pass tm5 at all it needed 24/4 - not sure in the end what this bios changed or updated but I assume it was mostly in the ME update? cause even reverting back to 0081 I still needed that offset change and tWTR_S & L change (maybe this was just me tired and testing late/forgetting but don't think so)
24/4 is correct for H24M since WTRL should be RRDLx2 and RRDL runs at 12 most of the time on H24M.

I'll try 0904. Probably still won't get 8400 stable but I won't know until I try!

Ok yeah i was pretty sure 24/4 was correct which in the end i did have to swap it back to that to get my memory stable again so maybe it just brute forced its way past it in the first rounds of 1usmus? otherwise no clue but careful on 0904, the ME firmware def changed something for me and @tibcsi0407 - idk fully for him but i had to change a couple v/f points around, the main one being v/f #11 needed to go down or up 0.003 can't remember now, even reverting back to 0080 i had to change my v/fs to what was needed on 0904 again, prob will swap back to 0904 again tonight to test some mem stuff although I'm still on air so only so far I can go

Using Auto training rules with VDDQ training disabled.. White APEX with 2001 Beta BIOS (1901 official, same thing apparently), stock CPU with HT off, so voltage isn't a problem.

I keep getting variations of Error 0, 14, 5, 15 in 1usmus, but they don't appear until the ~2hr to 2-1/2hr mark. DIMMs are water-cooled and do not exceed 31c. I've tried a multitude of different voltage combinations and can't seem to figure out which are causing this error, so that leads me to think it's timings, but as far as I can tell, I'm running fairly standard/not super tight.

I eventually tried Karhu and did 20K% no problem.. it's 1usmus kicking my ass right now. Have not tried VST/VT3 yet. I have been trying to see if CPU SA helps.. last test failed at 1.165, so now testing 1.170 currently.

BIOS Set voltages:

CPU SA: 1.170v
CPU VDDQ TX: 1.230v
CPU IMC VDD2: 1.400v
DRAM VDD: 1.500v
DRAM VDDQ: 1.450v

Any ideas?

What tool are you using to adjust curve within OS? I am doing it in bios it's very timetaking

Hi @tibcsi0407, is it worth trying the new 0904 BIOS? Did you notice any improvement? They always say they improve stability, but we never know what they do. I'm still with 0080
I used the beta one, but went back to 0081, because I can't find the stability yet. Will work on it later. I have no idea what they changed, bit on RAM side it's a mess.

When I go higher on VDD, it errors faster.

I used to run 36-48-48 @ 8200 1.48v/1.45v. My white APEX/IMC don’t seem to scale with more VDD2 voltage either :(

I need 1.56V VDD for 8400C36, that's why I thought.
VDD2 is somehow connected to SA, better to change them together.
Did you try much lower SA? 1.12V for instance?

Hey man, so what should I set my SVID behavior to? I tried best case the voltage was very low. So now I put it on typical and the droop is good, running around 1.21V under load. On auto even with big VF offsets my load voltage is hitting 1.25V. stock load voltage is 1.323V for reference. Also, should I leave AC DC LL on auto? I haven't touched those. And also even with 400A 320W limits I'm no longer hitting electrical limit IA reason. But after touching svid behavior and setting it to typical I'm hitting electrical limit IA. I set -120mV at 5.6 and -30mV at 5.8 so. 5.7 should've seen 60-70mV offset and I went from 1.32load to 1.25V load with just VF curve modification. But I'm not sure what this svid behavior option does.

I tried as low as 1.14v, I believe.

These settings gave 3x Error 0 over 120cycles (around 10-1/2hrs, ran it overnight). This is the closest I’ve been to stability.

CPU SA: 1.15v
CPU VDDQ TX: 1.23v
CPU VDD2: 1.40v
DRAM VDD: 1.50v
DRAM VDDQ: 1.45v

I’m going to try raising VDD2 slightly to 1.4125 (2 clicks ^) and see if that helps or hurts. I am so close.

I think I’m a bit unlucky with two mediocre IMCs back-to-back. I couldn’t make much progress with 8400 beyond an hour of 1usmus, which is why I backed down to 8266 to try and find a stable ground to work with.

I am also unsure how good Beta BIOS 2001 is for White APEX. I’ve seen you and a few other Encore users not having a good experience with the latest Encore beta either.. I’d imagine the changes are similar. It’s all part of the fun. I should have stuck with 1801 until I figured out a new stable setting, but got impatient. That’s my curse :p

Are you sure it's not the board?
My white APEX topped out on 8266. 8400 was TM5 stable, but Y had retraining issues. Couldn't even boot at 8533. :d
 
U cant boot 8533 with White apex....must be a broken one.

I don't know for sure, and with the DIMMs on water, I'm not going through the time to test each slot individually like I did with the Unify-X.. lol.

This is a later production run white APEX (March 2023, I believe), which seemed to have quite good QC compared to earlier batches. If it is the board, then it is what it is. I know very early BIOS releases, I couldn't get 8400 to run more than 7 seconds without a flood of Error 0 & Error 6 spam. WIth 1801, I could run it for about an hour, but getting past that is much more difficult. Could be a board wall, could be IMC.. tough to narrow it down without having a known quality IMC.

By pulling an individual stick? That’s what I meant in that post — with the sticks on water, it’s too time consuming with the small amount I have to spend on this stuff these days.

If there’s an easier way to do it.. that could be possible, like disabling the entire channel via BIOS, but I haven’t looked into that.
