"So Ive done it. I have thought of the most surefire way to have the absolute maximum fun per hour in this game.
It involves railguns, keen targeting, station fire zones, and good timing. But once you can get the hang of it, youre in for a good laugh, and a nice relaxing evening around a campfire.
So how does one get started on this magical journey of self reflection and railgun filled adventure? Well first you'll need an Imperial Clipper, or equal sized ship of pure wrath. Next, youre going to need to load it to the brim with railguns. Lots and lot of railguns. See, railguns shoot further than any other weapon in game. And unlike other weapons, they maintain their damage at range. So what does this mean for you? Well thats simple. It means if you aim at it with your guns, it dies.
So now that you have that Clipper and your railguns. Its time to load up. Full pips to weapons and undock. Go out until you leave the fire zone. Now.... Theres about a half a kilometer 'gap' between you and getting back inside that no fire zone. So feel free to turn around and scoot up a little bit. Now that youre in position, you get to play the waiting game. No, the waiting game isnt fun. In fact, the waiting game sucks. All you have to do is keep your sights trained on that station entrance. 3.45km away lies your enemy, the unsuspecting player...
And whoever undocks next is in for the surprise of his life.
So now that youre sitting there, daydreaming about whats going to undock to greet your hellfire barrage... What do you do when someone undocks? Well if it wasnt self explanatory, you have to maneuver very carefully to shoot them as they are in the letter box. This gives you the best opportunity to hit them. And while you unload on them from your safe spot, they will die almost immediately if in a smaller ship. Usually Asps and below die in 1-2 volleys if shielded, a T6 will die in 1. But you have to be good at aiming from this far away.
So whats so fun about station sniping though? Well.... if you never noticed, when you die, you respawn from the last station you were at. So no matter what, the guy you just killed is coming right back at you. Fun right? You bet. And if they try to refit for combat, or into a different ship to kill you with, guess who has one of the fastest ships in game AND a 3.5k headstart to run away or fight with? You do.
So theres the guide on max fun per hour. Enjoy it."
